Just thinking of this place makes my skin crawl and makes me want to jump in the shower!!! I live in Nicaragua and have to do a visa run every 3 months, this seemed like an easy place to stay as it was late when we got in to San Jose, the hostel across the street was full and they...

We wanted to be in La Sabana. My wife doesn't like hostels. This seemed affordable. The main person is sort of nice, but not really. No wake up calls. It is really dark. Our room has one small light bulb and a Christmas light to illuminate it. The mattress is saggy. The sheets, blankets, and towels are very rough. The...

I stayed here for one night with my 2 sisters and we couldn't wait to leave. We felt it was dingy and dirty and weren't sure what we may have caught from the bed linen (thankfully nothing). Its in desperate need of a revamp and the MDF walls make it feel as if there is no privacy. Also the Cats...

I stayed here as part of a GAP tour group. The first night my room mate had to sleep in a portable single bed with sagging springs, and the room stank of sewage! As she was leaving the tour I was moved to another room which was OK. Both the nights of our stay there was a meowing cat moving...

First, there was no hot water in the room and when we woke up at 4AM to get to the airport we found BED...

My nephew and I stayed at the Hotel Petit for several days on both the front and back ends of our Costa Rica visit in March 2006. Good value, but better if you pay cash. And a pretty good location. Twenty yards from the main avenue and an easy ten minute walk into the downtown area. Lots of buses and...

We arrived at San Jose international airport with no luggage, thanks to American Airlines, feeling worn out and despondent. Miguel and friends, from Hotel Petit, instantly lifted our spirits and made us feel very welcome. The Hotel, though featuring a small facade, develops into a welcoming and warm space once inside. The rooms have a distinctly rustic feel to them,...
