Good clean well run place, plenty of cheap eats locally and onky a short walk into centre of San Jose. A 30 minute walk to carabinas and san carlos bus stations which is fine in the morning but more hassle during the day...

I have written nice reviews before but this place is seriously the friendliest with options. The food is excellent and the people who stay up late get to, but the sleepers are taken care of. It attracts artists and travelers of all types. I would recommend this place to my family and my friends.

When we went to Costa Rica we spent a lot of time in San Jose when we were coming and going around the country and we always stayed here the staff on the whole were lovely and helped us to plan our days in the city! The rooms/dorms were relitavly spacious but not massively clean and we had to collect... More

Nice hostel, cozy, safe, calm (except for the buses and the train during the night). The only thing that we hated is the welcome. Because we didn't speak a lot of spanish, the responsible was cold and pricky. It's great for a one night stop, but it's not the place you would spend a lot of days.

We stayed there for one night in a private room. The room didn't seem to be very clean. The bathroom was smelly all the time. And the kitchen was gross and so were the tables to sit on. The lobby with the pool is nice. And location of the hostel is also in my opinion not the very best... It's... More

I have spent a lot of time in San Jose and understand that it is very challenging to find anything peaceful here; the city is LOUD (trains, dogs, car alarms, birds, dogs, etc) and it can be very hard to have a good nights sleep. There are also a lot of bad neighborhoods, crime and lack of outdoor space to... More

Two English girls in dorm - we stayed at this hostel for one night as a layover from the bus, arriving at 11.30pm. The showers are hot, the bathrooms are spacious and the dorms are a good size (we were the only ones in ours so that probably helped). You get free wifi, coffee, storage. However, it was all a... It's great to have a comfortable, lower cost place to stay like this in the middle of a big city. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They had good wifi, a great pool, cozy lounges with very warm decorations, great food, reasonable happy hour bar and free locked up parking for rental cars. They also help you plan bus... More

The staff, especially the women on reception was the rudest and most unhelpful I've experienced in a hostel. If you don't like hospitality don't work in the industry. I was asked to pay a deposit for the dorm room and locker key. No problem, this was paid in dollars as agreed with the manager, upon check-out I expected to get... More

This was my first experience in a hostel. The dorm room I stayed in had 3 bunk beds and I was happy to have room mates that showered regularly. I enjoyed sunning next to the pool even if I didn't get inside. I ordered breakfast from the bar/restaurant once and decided later to walk to McDonald's instead because the value... More

Hi. Thank you so much for your great comment. Little by little we will trying to improve our installations to bring a better service.
