Kekoldi Hotel is usually our choice in San Jose. We like the nearby restaurants, downtown location and its proximity to the Havana Humidor room just two or three blocks down the street. Kekoldi Hotel offers great value in the location we like most when visiting San Jose. The staff is always helpful and the funky, bohemian folks that stay here... More

Kekoldi is only a 5 minute walk away from the Plaza de la Cultura, with the Teatro Nacional and three important museums. The Mecado Central is maybe 10 minutes walk. The rooms are large and light, the breakfast okay, and the staff bend over backwards to try to be helpful. Will definitely stay here again. Clean, reasonable, friendly, with just... More

Unfortunately I had the front room facing the street, all night long there were scooters zooming and gunning their engines. It is NOISY and there was construction going on across the street. It was pretty much a bare room, a bed, 2 tables with 2 lamps, a desk with a chair. The windows were open when I got there, which... More

This hotel is in the center of the city so it is noisy but I expected that. My room was on the street but there were other rooms inside that had a nice view of the garden and maybe were quieter. It was clean and adequate. The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was adequate. Beautiful garden to sit... More

This place is a gem. Great location. It is not fancy, but you get awesome value for money. There is a pretty outdoor area which is a little oasis in the busy city. The staff here are wonderful. So welcoming and helpful. They really are special. One of the gentlemen at the Front Desk helped me with my bus transportation... More

I stayed here with my gf for one night. It is very nicely designed and decorated. People working here are very friendly. Our room was cosy and clean. Hotel location makes the whole touristy central part of downtown easily accessible by foot, including central square, all the restaurants and supermarkets. If I ever come back I will definitely stay here... More

We had room #7 and it was quite spacious with 2 beds and a closet. Bathroom is also good size. Nice view of garden from the window. Breakfast can be eaten out or in - simple but filling. Pleasant walk to Plaza Cultural. Overall would definitely stay again. Thanks to Warren, Winston and the other attendant who willingly gave suggestions... More

The staff was very friendly, rooms clean, and good location. Many places are within walking distance. It is a very good place to stay for the price. Nice breakfast and outdoor patio are a plus. I plan to stay there again.

Our party had Rooms 6&7 and both are large, airy and bright. Each room had a walk in shelved cupboard with a safe box and Room 7 had a small fridge. In common with many hotels there was no luggage bench meaning bags had to be dealt with on the floor, or else on the bed. Not a good idea... More

Stayed here 3 times during our 6 weeks in Costa Rica. Loved each visit and would highly recommend staying here (recommend room 7) Great positioning with a few cafes and restaurants within a couple of blocks and a short walk to the center of the city. The hotel is spotless and cleaned everyday, the garden is a lovely place to... More
