Fabulous hotel with fantastic service. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We didn't eat dinner there but had drinks on the rooftop. Great atmosphere. Felt very safe there and would recommend anyone to stay there ................... ....

An overnighter here as part of a group tour.. The hotel is uniquely styled and the rooms were good. The reception staff were attentive, but unfortunately that is where the good stuff ends. The bar/ restaurant is a sham, we went for a drink and to maybe eat something, but after $54 dollars for two gin and tonics and two half beers we were less than impressed. We found the waitress to be pushy and judgy when we didn't want the £7 half pint of artisan I.P.A. ( no sizes were listed so we assumed a decent sized glass) in favour of a local beer ( which was still overpriced) and over £10 for a gin and tonic was less than impressive and when we didn't want to stay for a $20 hamburger the mood changed abruptly and the bill had to be settled there and then, rather than on checkout. .. There was also the cheek to add a 10% service charge on top of the extortionately priced beverages when it took ten minutes make them ( and we poured our own tonic!). My advice... Skip the bar .. Exit the hotel, turn left and go in the local bar next to it... Two rounds and food cost half what the initial round did and the staff were far friendlier and more attentive, a true San Jose experience.

Central location on one of San Jose’s pedestrian avenues - entrance is through the carpark on a side street but don’t let this put you off! Easy to walk to most of the San Jose attractions and the hotel has a nice little route map on the key card. Can be a little bit of noise from the street but the rooms are nice, clean and comfortable.

We stayed here for one night at the start of our Costa Rican holiday. It’s conveniently located for the airport and close to all main sights in San Jose. The rooms are large but pretty basic and with a little road noise. The staff were helpful, the breakfast was good and the reception area had a quirky design with old typewriters and sewing machines on display. I would recommend this hotel for a short stopover before or after a flight.

We stayed here for a night at either end of our Costa Rica tour for which the hotel is perfect for as its only 20 minutes drive from the airport. The rooms are simple but clean and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. There aren't any tea/coffee facilities in the room but it is available 24/7 in reception which can be taken back to your room. There is a roof top bar and restaurant which is a little expensive for the portion size but it is worth it so you don't have to be wandering the streets at night looking for a place to eat, whilst the area immediately surrounding the hotel is OK you don't need to walk very far to stray into some less than hospitable areas of town (the big steel gates on the hotel front don't help in easing the feeling of uneasiness but there is a very visible police presence in the area which does make you feel a little better if you do venture out). Breakfast is OK , there's just enough choice to grab a light snack and a coffee before heading off after an early pick up. If you do ask for a take away breakfast that will leave you disappointed as its a very sparse sandwich with a very soggy piece of cake. We did enjoy our stay but sadly San Jose is not somewhere we would return to.

The hotel is right off the main pedestrian mall with easy access to museums, parks, shopping, and more. The building is open and warm with lots of plants. Rooms are simple, clean, and spacious with a large shower. Breakfast was great, with friendly staff. Transportation arrangements and luggage storage helped make things easier for us.

A good check in, a comfortable bed, pleasant reception area with free coffee, tea and drinking water, excellent breakfast. It's centrally located so there is street noise, and I didn't even attempt the complex looking air conditioning after a very long flight, but it was great for a one night stay

Excellent place to stay when arriving in Costa Rica at the airport. Very comfortable room and a lovely rooftop bar and restaurant, and the food was excellent. Quirky boutique feel with lots of plants, and for us just the perfect one night stay before we moved on to the East Coast.

Transiting through on arrival from the uk, this hotel was perfect for an overnight stay. Super clean, with coffee and tea 24/7 in the lobby( ideal for the jet lagged early morning risers). Breakfast was excellent with great choice and variety. My favourite aspect was the pretty rooftop bar( and restaurant) . Staff were friendly.

Location!!! Cool vibe and wonderful breakfast. Nice and helpful staff. Great and comfortable room. Our family of 4 explored San Jose for a few nights before going elsewhere. Hotel presidente was a terrific spot to explore central San Jose pedestrian Ave and museums. It was comfortable. Room was great. Loved lobby as another space to hang. We all enjoyed breakfast buffet! View from terrace was amazing. Wish we’d tried the restaurant
