The Presidente Hotel proved a tranquil, contemporary oasis away from the hectic hustle and bustle of central San Jose. Starting and finishing our two week trip in Costa Rica at the hotel, proved a great way to bookend our trip. I was particularly impressed with the customer service, from checking in to helping with reuniting me with my all time...

This is a very modern hotel with lovely rooms, great shower and wi fi. Breakfast was excellent and the reception are was very quirky in its decor. There was a comfy place to sit and a couple of board games if you had time to kill. It is lovely and central, just around the corner from the theatre and cathedral....

We used the hotel as our positioning location at either end of our trip, but it really exceeded our expectations for a 'airport hotel'. It is hidden down a side street right in the centre of San Jose and has a really cool vibe/design in the reception. Whilst this look and feel isn't quite carried on into the rooms, they...

Graet review, thank you very much. We are not exactly an "airport" hotel, but guests love to stay at the Presidente for easy access to the sites in downtown, great restaurants and nightlife and cultural events, which make it a great day in town.

Like one of the other reviewers, I wasn't too sure. Once inside I was amazed at the simplicity of the design, the airiness and the feeling of space and history. The toilets were amazing with heavy iron partitions and huge bolts on the doors! We stayed here for a night at each end of journey, good restaurants are within a...

We stayed for just 1 night as a stop over between arriving in Costa Rica and traveling on to Tortuguero. Really central hotel, very welcoming staff in a clean, smart and modern reception. We got upgraded (thank you!) so had a really big room with a city view - very restful despite being in the thick of it. Downtown San...

Thank you for your review. We are the ideal hotel for guests moving East like you, going to Tortuguero (Caribbean, Pacuare etc) as we are one of the last stops. You can sleep in, enjoy breakfast, and have a great dinner the night before, without the pressure of waking up early and sitting in the bus for a long time...

We loved staying in this hotel! It's right off of the main pedestrian walkway, but it's tucked away from all the traffic. The building itself is really interesting architecturally speaking, and the decor was my favorite part (they incorporated a lot of the building's history into the decorating). You can go up a funky spiral staircase to the rooftop, which...

We used this hotel as an overnight stay after a 3 flight journey to Costa Rica. When we arrived it was strange to see the entrance was via a side street up in an elevator. I wondered what we had come to. I needn't have worried as the inside was lovely. Quaint and old fashioned in a modern way if...

Great comment "quaint and old fashioned in a modern way". Exactly what our designers had in mind. Nice to read that guests agree with the concept.

When our driver stopped outside this hotel I have to say I was a little concerned. However within a few minutes these concerns were alleviated. There is so much good to say about this place but one big plus is its location, really central which given we there only there one night was a real advantage. The entrance is funky...

My husband and I had a great stay at Hotel Presidente! The hotel staff was extremely kind and welcoming, the rooms were great, and the breakfast was delicious. The decoration was funky and cool! The location is excellent, within walking distance to most everything downtown! Thank you!

Our first stop on the Costa Rica tour was this very well positioned hotel within walking distance of major points of interest. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast buffet had all the major ingredients although with a smaller selection than in Europe.
