After looking at all the positive reviews, I inquired about an upcoming need for 8 days of accommodations for work in the area. I explained where I would be working most days and Thomas wrote back and strongly suggested that I find a place closer to my work site. It is not often that one foregoes business for the best...

Decent location but at night it's a very dark and lonely street. No one welcomed me when I checked in. Person at front desk was very ambivalent to guests. Unfortunately, not a good first impression arriving to San Jose. The rooms need major updates..the linens and towels seem to be decades old. The only nice thing is the garden and...

Howdy Dlgover, You guys were so great ! Loved seeing your happy smiling faces in the morning and it is wonderful that when we make suggestions and clients follow them! You can't believe how many travelers come in and ask a zillion questions and do just the opposite. Then when they have problems , they want us to resolve them,...

When one is staying in a hotel it is nice to have the comforts of home like a cozy bed, clean and full of amenities like breakfast included. But Santo Tomas is more ....the owner helped us with our plans in San Jose and gave out contacts to others who were looking to rent a car and the list goes...

For less than the price of a “Super 8” in the U.S. I had the pleasure of staying at the charming, clean, friendly, and centrally-located Hotel Santo Tomas, the perfect balance between a B & B and a small boutique hotel, where I stayed two nights on my way to a yoga retreat on the Osa peninsula, as well as...

Hi Mal601, It was so refreshing to meet a senior citizen with your moxie. Loved it that you are and I am guessing , please don't get mad: on the back side of 65 + and a yoga teacher. That was inspirational for me as well. I try to meet and greet most of our clients in the morning over...

There was confusion over our reservation and the staff were quick to fix it. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. We also booked our rental car through them and received a brand new 4X4 at much less than the large international rental places. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting San Jose.

Hi Hilary, Those were some crazy days during the Christmas and New Years week. I was really happy we could sort everything out and we were able to get you a rental car that worked so well. We assist many travelers with day tours, rental car and the like, just email us. That was cool the car only had like...

The former grandeur of the 110 year old mansion is present in the 12 ft ceilings, rich mahogany floors and paneling, and colorful tiles. However, the 3 different rooms we stayed in had only windows on to the hallway which felt claustrophobic after awhile, the bedding was ratty and dated, and the atmosphere was dark and dank. The staff was...

Hi Cynthia, You stayed in our economy room the lowest priced in the hotel. At $57.99 including the free breakfast, booking on the hotels direct web site. Hard to believe you found a Boutique hotel , with a jacuzzi, swimming pool and free breakfast for $28.99, I doubt it. As we have 5 different room types to fit different budgets,...

This hotel was perfect for our trip to San Jose. Connected with all tour companies and the staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. The location was also perfect, just on the edge of downtown, close to everything of interest!

Hola Gabriale, Wonderful having you stay and allowing us to assist you with all of your tour planning . The hotel is a renovated mansion that was all done by the owner, an American Expat who has been there more than 20+ years. The owner, Thomas, is a wealth of knowledge and is around for guests to interact with regularly. In that sense, it feels a bit like a B&B. Breakfast is adequate and is served to order pool...
