We were staying at a nearby hostel, and their front desk referred us to Hostel Casa Colon for dinner, so we walked over. It's a nice Spanish colonial type building, with a restaurant and bar downstairs. We thought the food was delicious and the prices were quite reasonable for the city. Friendly, great service. Try the Aztec soup...mmmm!!!!!

Decent place, friendly and helpful staff. It's San Jose so expect it to be noisy, but with earplugs I slept fine. Stayed in a dorm room just for a night on my way in between the south and the north and had no problems, but also didn't get all that much of a feel for it. The bed was surprisingly...

We only went to the restaurant, which had a good selection of Costa Rican food - something we found hard to find in San Jose as all the Western chains are there in abundance. I guess Ticos want something other than their typical food when they eat out. We were also shown around the hostel by our enthusiastic server, she...

We stayed in a dorm while we were there and it was very clean and the staff were very informative. Plus the restaurant has good food. Would stay definitely stay here again if we were back in the city!

The hostel has a restaurant attached to it. I ate quiet a few meals there and enjoyed the meals and the company! You must try the nutella desert with strawberries! It is delicious with champagne and I must admit I had it more than on time! The hostel is an easy block from the main blvd with outdoor and indoor...

This is a pretty little hostel in central San José. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning is of a good quality- mo mosquitos to be seen! The only potential downside is that the wifi does not reach to all rooms. Attached to the hostel is a nice Soda which serves tasty and cheap food.

Backpackers: usually stay in cheap double rooms or dorm rooms. This place was awesome! Only stayed for one night when passing through. Great location walk straight down the main road outside to get to the centre with bars, restaurants and shops. Supermarket few doors down and a subway. Safe to walk to the main area due to been main road,...

Spent just one night here while bussing through CR. It was a great option location-wise. We got off the bus and walked to the hostel, dropped off our bags, and walked into downtown. We stayed until after dark so we took a cab back, but then we were well-situated to walk back to the bus stop in the morning. Very...

Thanks for your comment, we are located in the capital of San Jose,so the traffic noise is sometimes a little annoying for our guest. Also we try to reward it with a good service and comfort in our rooms. Greetings!

Although a hostel, more representative of a economy hotel. We arrived 1 day early and they were able to accommodate us with a private room. It was a lovely, well equipped room but located in the front adjacent to a busy street. Had to sleep with ear plugs. Our booked room with A/C was equally well equipped, clean but much...
