Cambranes has some great features and some not so great features. First the good: the hotel is located in a great area of San Jose, which is saying a lot in a town in which finding a safe area with good hotels can be a struggle. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance and

Always my choice. Quiet lodgings within easy walking distance to major bus routes, restaurants, and shopping, including Mall San Pedro, which offers multiple services. Near the University of Costa Rica too. Room includes a filling breakfast that will keep you going until time

We flew into San Jose and needed somewhere to stay before getting straight out to Tortuguero (incredible!). We organised a transfer through the hotel so didn't have to negotiate taxi drivers and the driver was very friendly and gave us lots of tips (called Jose). The hotel was

My room only had a shower, no tub and was a fair size (I'm not exactly slim). As far as flushing the toilet paper goes, NO, there is even a sign on the wall about this. When I asked (never heard of this before) I was told this was common in Costa Rica due to the size of the pipes used for the waste water (being much smaller than the standard size found in Canada+US).

Hello. Unfortunately we don't have a garage. The people with rental Cars normally park right in front of the hotel. Othetwise, there is a public parking garage three blocks from the hotel and the cost of it is approximate $2 per hour. Looking forward to your stay!

"They all seem quiet - we were on the road but slept soundly."
"Don't choose a room with a window that faces the front since the afternoon sun makes it stiflingly hot and there is no AC."
"I was concerned about the street noise since the windows are open, but there was never any noise that was an impact on being able to sleep."
"Room 10 looked out into an air shaft and was very quiet. And had a huge Jacuzzi."
"If traffic sounds bother you then don't go for the rooms at the front, I slept great but there is alot of cars and motorcycles going by."
