Since we came back early from Corcovado to San Jose our original hotel wasn't avaliable for one night, so we stayed almost next door at this hotel. The room wasn't too big, just enough room for our luggage. Bathroom was ok. Breakfast was good. The noiselevel of the trains which runs nearby was pretty high in the room!

Located in a neighbourhood which is not far away from the city center, this hotel is a place with very different rooms, maye being a consequence of using every square inch available, mine was small and without any daylight, having only a mock window to the staircase. Other rooms are much nicer, but this place is absolutely ok, if you... More

THIS IS A WINNER and most especially if you can get a nice good deep discount online. You may have to wait until the last minute to get up to 40 percent off but you will be glad you did. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and modern and stylish. Complimentary breakfast 6 to 9 am.... More

We stayed here for only one night after we first arrived in Costa Rica. The service was great, everyone was superfriendly! The breakfast was very good (fruits, yoghurt, toast, coffee) and the rooms were tidy.

A clean well located hotel. My room was at the cheaper end and though a little small was clean and fully functional with good free wifi. Reception staff were helpful and informative and sent me to a good typical restaurant and bar literally 2 mins walk away. Quiet at night (though you could just hear the trains from 5am to... More

We had a great stay here. Nice front desk guy, basic room, good breakfast. Moved here after a terrible stay at another hotel and it was refreshing. Second floor room with an internal patio. Most of San Jose not very safe at night but walk to Tin Jo Asian restaurant a few blocks away. Excellent!

We've had two rooms and they were clean. The rooms were looking used, but equipment was in good conditions. Good place to stay for a view nights in order to discover the city and the surrounding area.

A recent real life nightmare had three of us walking around downtown San Jose going from hotel to hotel trying to find some vacancy. After trying 6 or 7 different places we found The Palm House Inn. It was pretty expensive for Costa Rica, the first night we were three and a triple room cost $72 (in cash, pay by... More

It's located pretty down town San Jose and it is easy to find. It's relatively cheaper than the other hotels nearby even though its not a low cost hotel. The rooms are clean, but small. The breakfast was really good.

“Our first night we had rooms on the entrance floor next to the reception desk. We had to move for the second night due to the doors being very thin and lots of noise in the night/morning, that was no problem for them. I wouldn't recommend accepting any of the rooms on the ground floor because of this.”
