This hotel was our first stop on our first trip to Costa Rica. It is well priced, and far away from the busy hustle and bustle of downtown San Jose, though in somewhat remote location from anything interesting in the neighborhood.

We initially booked the Costa Verde because of the price. However this was a truly enchanting guest house set in lush green gardens and served by friendly, helpful staff. The room was comfortable but basic. Absolutely recommend as a place to stay in San Jose.

If you mean the fantastic farmer's market in "el Centro de Escazu" on Saturdays, it is only a few minute drive from Costa Verde- so a dollar or two. It is about a 10 minute walk down the hill into town, which is enjoyable to do but not if you're carrying bags back up. And as always in Costa Rica- remember that PEDESTRIANS DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY... This still comes as a shock to me, I guess! Enjoy your visit
