Friendly, fun and helpful staff with lots information and tips, even supplied us with a trip to a secret waterfall! The hostel is in a great location, 5 minutes walk to Quepos town where they have cheap good food as well as having the bus stop outside so it's easy to get to the national park and the beautiful beaches the...

The hostel is located in a very spectacular place, where you can meet a lot of amazing people coming from different parts of the world. The owner is a very nice person who let you feel as you were in a big house surrounded by people like you who want to share a great experience, let's say the PURA VIDA!...

While Pura Vida hostel is not the most beautiful hostel I've ever stayed at, it certainly has its charms. The small and adorable 'Titi' monkeys frequently visit the balcony, and during my stay I saw two Sloths crossing the street in front of the hostel! \ Every night there is something going on, from group dancing sessions to drinking games...

Not pleased with this hostel! At $17 it is way over priced considering other hostels much more conveniently located are charging much less. The kitchen/refrigerator need cleaning and reequiping.Breakfast was 1 hour late because the staff weren't out of bed.Adding to the image of unprofessionalism were the male staff wearing only shorts. This place only survives because of demand exceeding supply...

Whilst the staff here were lovely and very helpful the hostel itself was the worst we stayed in in Costa Rica. The bed was sooo uncomfortable - springs poking into your back all night, not to mention the stains on the sheets and mattress and the room was SO hot and sticky. The shower electrocuted my fiancé and the kitchen...

I have stayed here on several occasions. Staff are always super friendly and helpful. Dorms are clean and comfortable, well-ventilated with fans. Kitchen is well-equipped and there's plenty of fridge space if you want to store and cook your own food. The common areas are furnished with comfortable seats and couches, facilitating a relaxed and very social environment where guests...

Stayed for 3 nights at Pura Vida. Most of the time there was a weird smell (kind of sour, like wet dog) and everybody noticed and wondered what it was. The dorm I stayed in were not smelly, though. The kitchen was pretty dirty, and especially the plates were always sticky and not clean. The hostel has a really nice...

What makes a home is the people, the owner and managers of the hostel, being backpackers themselves, realize this and make it as comfortable a home for you as possible. When you check in the hostel, you are guaranteed to have a good time or the managers won't let you check out without it. Stayed here for one night, and...

Excellent hostel with extremely friendly and helpful staff, always willing to offer help in whatever way they can. Clean rooms with a well equipped kitchen and beautiful balconies for relaxing on, surrounded by nature. Great location; near both Quepos (for cheaper supplies) and Manuel Antonio (beach/park). I've been in Costa Rica for a year and Pura Vida Hostel provides an...

Good value for money. I stayed there for 3 nights and I got the 4th for free. Free pancakes and coffee in the morning. I made new friends there, the owner is a really nice guy and involves you with various activities, which is good especially if you're a solo traveller. Pura Vida!
