Francois and Eni are so friendly and treated us like family. The meals they provide (optional) are made with top quality, organic ingredients that have been responsibly raised and lovingly prepared. I highly recommend these delicious and nutritious home cooked meals. For those who want to visit the richly bio-diverse Corcovado National Park (and I hope that is your reason to come here in the first place!), it does not get any more convenient - just a 5 min walk to the entrance. Clean facility, stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, beautiful ambiance with the sounds of the nearby river, macaws and howler monkeys. The pricing for the accommodation and food was quite reasonable and most importantly, we loved their attention to detail to minimize the carbon footprint arising from tourism. They also arranged jungle tours for us and gave us information of the surrounding areas for self-guided adventures. We quickly became good friends with the hosts as well as the local guides, Roger and Ronald, and also had the opportunity to visit the staff and children at the local school and distribute some school supplies and basic necessities. Though the lack of reliable WiFi was initially a little inconvenience, we quickly acclimatized and enjoyed the freedom of being unplugged from cyberspace! Highly recommended for nature lovers!!! It was a memorable experience that will be cherished for the rest of our lives.

We had a great and intense stay in this "open air" hostel. Sleeping in the nature with hearing the noises of the jungle was a great experience. Francois the Belgian host is making you feel not as a guest but as a friend coming to visit and tries to spend as much time as possible with you. I highly recommend the tour he offers where you discover the jungle with a local guide and sleep in hammocks at a gold digger's place in the middle of the jungle. Our most interesting adventure in Costa Rica!

I had a wonderful stay at Utopia Tica - The hosts were warm, welcoming and place is just as promised, in the heart of nature. The river flows right next to the property and is perfect to just relax by. Corcovado tours are easily arranged. The owners are very knowledgeable about the local area and can help you find what you're looking for. I highly recommend the horse back riding tour in the area, its the perfect way to explore the jungle!

Utopia Tica is a simple place, just located next to a river. Just close your eyes and listen to the parrots, toucans, monkeys. You'll be welcomed by François who lives here since several years and develops a respectful way of living. Naural, organic, simple. That's life!

We spent two lovely nights in the nature, a few steps away from the river, amongst fruit trees and birds. You will experiment living in harmony with the nature. Try to use only organic products while you stay there :-) François will tell you all there is to know about the surroundings.
