Three of us arrived at Cabinas Tropicales after randomly following the signs in town. Marc promptly welcomed us with a warm smile and thorough information on anything we could possibly want to know about how to explore the area in the best way. Cabinas Tropicales is safe, clean, and beautiful with spacious rooms, warm water, wireless internet, and a/c for... More

We spent one night here in July, the off season. The rooms are arranged around a central courtyard with picnic table and cooking facilities. Another group staying there was up late cooking, drinking, and being very loud. Good management would have asked them to quiet down. At least post signs. We were also unhappy with the checkin process. No one... More

My friend and I stayed here the night before our hike to Corcovado and the night after our hike. Mark and Lee were accommodating, friendly and extremely helpful. I felt comfortable and loooooved the outdoor shower. When I go back to Puerto Jimenez, I will definitely be back to the Cabinas Tropicales. Gracias amigos!

A safe, clean and peaceful place to stay in Puerto Jiminez, with a beautiful outdoor kitchen. We hung out the first day, enjoying the hammocks, hummingbirds and other birds passing by. Later that day, Mark helped us organizing our trip to Corcovado. He knows the best guides and organizes everything right away for you. We had a guide named Bolivar,... More

Stayed here for one night, preparing for a 3-day trip in Corcovado. We arrived early morning and it was no problem to already enter our room. The host is very friendly and helpful, showing you around and giving good tips for places to visit in the area. We loved that we could use the bikes for free.

I did make a reservation by mail far in advance for room number 5 because of the outside shower. When we arrived early in the afternoon the owner told us that room number 5 was not available. We could get another room. I did told him that I did not like this. He did offer a discount. The room was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, it is a lovely place. Beautiful garden with lots of flowers and birds, very clean (and quite new?) air conditioned rooms with good showers - just what we needed after hiking in Corcovado in 33 degree heat!! Really enjoyed our stay, Mark was very welcoming, gave us a map of the town and advice.... More

first time we arrived to cabinas tropicales, gringo mark casually informed us that he had overbooked, and that our reserved room was no longer available. he was amicable enough about it, and led us to a neighboring hotel, which was fine. we were promised an upgraded room for our return stay less than a week later. however, when we returned,... I apologize for the overbooking. At the time of your stay I purchased a new booking platform which turned out to be a disaster. I had problems with overbooking. We have replaced it to say the least. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by us. More
