My family and I just returned from the most spectacular vacation we have ever been on. El Remanso Lodge is located in the most beautiful of all locations and it far exceeded all of our expectations. The video describing the lodge (although incredible) pales in comparison to what this place actually has to offer. The owners are the kindest, most...

I cannot say enough good things about El Remanso Lodge. For my family of 4 (two kids age 6 and 9) it was the absolute perfect vacation. El Remanso far surpassed my expectation in every way. It is owner run and operated with attention to every last detail. The staff was incredibly friendly making you feel like a member of...

This is our third stay at El Remanso, and each time it gets better and BETTER! Always we see new animals and plants. We were able to stay in one of their brand new villas, and it was unlike anything we'd ever experienced. Our private back deck placed us mid-way up the canopy, and we were able to watch troops...

My husband and I loved It here! We spent the first four days of our honeymoon here and left with the most wonderful memories! There was so much to do and we tried to take advantage of every tour that was offered! The waterfall repelling was amazing and we also really enjoyed the horseback riding with Miguel. We loved hiking...

We had mixed views about this lodge. It was not close to one of the great national parks and the bird watching trip takes place on a public road bordered by private farm land and full of vehicles from other lodges. We had some good sightings of birds and distant monkeys but the context was very touristy and the surroundings...

We stayed 4 nights here and had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were very attentive - all of them remembered our names and always asked how we were. The food was very good and there was a wide choice. Pool was lovely and warm. We walked down to the beach each day - hard work in the heat but...

A great experience in the most exotic rain forest setting. All personnel (from domestic staff through to the owners - who are on site) were extremely friendly addressing guests on first name terms. Food was delicious, well presented and plentiful. The setting of the pool was tranquil and a beautiful spot just before sunset to watch the toucans and other...

A 45 minute ride on an unpaved bumpy road from Port Jimenez brings you to El Remanso, a fabulous small "resort in the forest". We stayed in one of the ground floor rooms in the building over looking the pool area with partial ocean view; it was perfect!! Awakened each morning (early!!) by "howler" monkeys in the trees, we enjoyed...

This place opened in the 1990s and is still looking after its guests to a very high standard. There are some rooms overlooking the pool, and some situated more privately away from the main hub of the hotel. We had one of the former, and loved it. There was a superb view over the forest, with the sea in the...

El Remanso, which means "the backwater" is unbelievably great if you like wildlife, are interested in being in a real tropical rainforest on the Pacific coast and want to be pampered and well fed. We are not used to such luxury, but we did take a "standard" room, and that was plenty luxurious. We didn't have views of the ocean...
