If you want to see, and live in, a tropical rain forest, this is the place. All the villas are comfortable with granite kitches, stainless steel appliances and some have A/C. So where you'll stay - well, it will be very nice. Especially for the money. You will wake up to the AM barking of the Howler Monkeys and don't be surprised if an anteater comes on to your porch, or a sloth. The bird life is astounding. You'll hear and see varieties of Toucans and MacCaws. The insect life is amazing. Everything from hooded preying mantises to leaf cutter ants. But do not touch. Many of them can sting. The good news is that for the most part, their sting is no worse than a bee sting. You must bring a strong 4 wheel drive car as this place is up in the mountains. And bring food. You'll need it.

Amazing trip to a little slice of paradise nestled up in the jungle with walker falls, zip lining and nature trails, but close enough to beaches, attractions and other adventures! Beautiful pool and bar as well as organic gardens for the guests to gather their own fresh veggies. Everyone should come here at least once to reconnect with nature and hear the howler monkeys just outside your door.

The best thing about Osa Mountain Village is the residents.Friendly,helpful,informative.Lisa who cooks for the restaurant is amazing! Great food.Villas are comfortable, clean and have everything you need.It can be tough for some to get up the mountain on the steep,dirt/stone road.Off raiders will love it! It was a bit too rural for this old, soft city boy.Good place to get away from it all!

Glad you liked it here! We have been blessed with residents who love to live life to the fullest. The fact is that everyone is in such a good mood all the time here! High atop a mountain in the jungles of Costa Rica, overlooking cloud forests and amazing epic views of the Pacific Ocean, Cano Island, mountains, monkeys, butterflies the size of your hand, tropical birds and so much more! Hope you return soon! We'll leave the light on for ya! Skip

Stayed in villa 14A, a one bedroom with a studio apt downstairs. The villa was very nice and well maintained. We hiked to many of the waterfalls and did zip lining onsite. The bar area was the highlight of the trip, many fun people, cold drinks and great food! We plan on going back next year.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property for two weeks over Christmas and New Years. Our kids had a great time zip lining and we all enjoyed hiking to the waterfalls and spending the holidays with the other community guests and residents. Waking up in the jungle to howler monkeys and exploring the gardens and looking for birds and insects was incredible. We made some amazing memories at OMV. While the resort is not what it once was (from reading older reviews, we realized that there are some things that are no longer available on site), it is exactly what we needed. The free, on-site laundry facility was GREAT, as was the beautiful pool area and fresh organic produce. There is a dedicated group of residents who prepare tasty and affordable dinners at the bar on most nights and meeting/interacting with them was my 11 year old's favorite part of the trip. OMV is also an excellent home base if you want to explore Drake Bay. We drove down (during the dry season) and it took us about 2.5 hours. We crossed 7 rivers and were thankful to have our 4x4 vehicle in Drake Bay. If you want a private, eco-friendly, South Pacific Costa Rican experience, you will not be disappointed in Osa Mountain Village. It's not perfect, but neither is life. Get some groceries, kick back and enjoy the epitome of PURA VIDA!

Hi Miranda, Thank you so much for your stellar review. Although I was not able to personally meet you and your family due to my own Holiday time with family, there was not a person here who didn't love you guys :-) I was told by more than a few that your family was easy to be with, comfortable in our community and that you fit in so nicely. As you will likely agree, we are not The Hilton ... we are in the rainforest, high up on a mountain where the wildlife far outnumbers the humans. This is not a vacation for those who want to be waited on or wined and dined, but it's a memorable one for those wanting to reconnect with nature, family and friends, both new and old. You guys fit in perfectly and we couldn't be happier. We truly appreciate you spending your precious vacation time with us. It means a lot and we hope to see you again soon.
