Our room was clean, the shared restroom and showers were kept clean, as were the common areas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The ocean and jungle views are fantastic! This is not a luxury resort, but if you are looking for luxury, Montezuma may not be for you. We experienced lots of up close wildlife here, including waking... More

This was my first visit to Costa Rica & my first experience staying in a Hustle style hotel and It was wonderful! Because I was traveling with a group of four we stayed in room 10. It was on the second floor & had 3 twins and a full bed. In the common areas there was a group kitchen, lots... More

The hotel staff is very nice and super helpful. The rooms are very basic but clean although a bit old. This hotel provides exactly what it advertises. Given you are in the jungle, there are a lot of mosquitoes (and sometimes big spiders) that can come in your room (mosquitoes nets on the windows but there is enough space for... More

If you wanna wake up hi5-ing a monkey or saying goodnight to a colorful iguana, this is your place. You can spend your evenings reading a book on the swing, hearing the noises of the jungle or having a talk in the common area (facing the Ocean) to a fellow traveler. We loved this hostel a lot and was a... More

Charming common area with great book exchange and games to play. Luciano was working the reception and with a smile accommodated our incessant questions about what to see, where to go next, how to get there and where to stay. Stayed in a 5 person dorm beside the kitchen which was clean and had a good oscillating fan. I'm intrigued... More

Myself and a friend stayed here both in the dorm and upstairs. It's a great deal for solo travels, esp 30-40somethings looking for a nice clean quiet place, yet still to be around people. It's far enough from the center to have peace and close enough to walk. It's up the hill so, be ready for that but I found... More

We booked a double room with shared shower/toilet. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped. Another good thing was that they gave us new towels everyday. The room was not that big, but it was enough for two people. The shower was quite sandy...seemed they dont clean it a lot. furthermore it was quite expensive. To sum up, luna llena... More

quirky and quaint and perfect for my solo stay in Montezuma! I loved my tiny room and the personality of the place. If I were staying longer I would have utilized the community kitchen to cook....but I also couldn't resist the great food down the road in town! I'll be back ASAP.

Although the luna llena hostel was set in a beautiful local, with very nice/clean appearing rooms and friendly staff, we unfortunately experienced one of the greater pitfalls of hostel traveling. Upon waking up and resuming our next days travels, my boyfriend and I discovered that we had been prodigiously attacked by bed bugs during our one night stay. We are... More
