Getting to Ylang Ylang was an adventure that made this hidden gem even more fun! After landing in San Juan, we took a flight to Tambour, and the resort shuttled us to Montezuma. Because of how tucked back Ylang Ylang is we walked along the beach to get the rest of the way while they took our luggage on a side by side. We walked right past a turtle sanctuary. We stayed in cabina C and came to Ylang Ylang for a wedding, so we got to see the Tree Top Canopy, a garden bungalow, and a beach bungalow. All of the rooms were great, and we were satisfied with the cabina. The housekeeping team was amazing. I don't know how they kept everything so clean with all of the sand from the nearby beach. The Ylang Ylang team is amazing! Every team member from management to the reception to the bartenders and servers were top notch. We saw the servers the most and were able to build relationships with them during the 5 days that we stayed. They remembered what drinks I liked, and Darren helped me with practicing Spanish. They even danced at the wedding after the bride and groom asked them to join. So many good memories! The food was amazing! They even entertained custom meals when requested. The french toast, homemade syrup, and coffee were my favorites for breakfast. All of the sushi that I tried was great! The green turtle and caipirinha were my favorite cocktails. My favorite part was getting to see whales from sitting in the restaurant during lunch. Hearing the howler monkeys and seeing agoutis and the white-nosed coati were also highlights!

If I could give Ylang Ylang an infinite amount of stars, I would. We first visited in 2019 because my husband and I were looking for destination wedding locations. We found Ylang Ylang Beach Resort online and had to go check it out, because we thought “there is no way this place is as amazing as it looks online” well let me tell you - it is. Actually, it’s better. We fell in love and decided to host our wedding at the resort, then COVID hit and we had to postpone. Emma was so accommodating and helped navigate the postponement with ease. She was there, virtually, beside me every step of the way. We finally had our wedding in July of 2021 and it exceeded every expectation I had. Literally the perfect wedding experience. Wedding venue aside, the resort property is breathtakingly beautiful and nature is literally at your doorstep. Geckos, monkeys, lizards, butterflies - you name it. Each room has it’s own character and vibe and it’s truly a very authentic experience. The best part of Ylang Ylang can’t be captured in a photo or a review. You HAVE to go meet them - the staff. I had 30 of my closest friends and family with me for the wedding, and I cried just as much saying goodbye to the amazing staff members as I did my own family. They are truly incredible and make you feel so at home. You can tell that they love what they do and they go above and beyond to give you an amazing memorable experience. The food at the resort is incredible. My friends and family are still raving about it! Also, there are so many wonderful places to explore close to the resort, and the town of Montezuma is also a must see - full of wonderful people and incredibly talented artists. I’ve traveled to many places all over the world, but there is nothing that can quite compare to Ylang Ylang.

My husband and I spent 12 days traveling around Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We stayed two nights at Ylang Ylang and were so upset that we didn't spend more time there. This resort is a hidden gem in Montezuma. From the drive across the beach to the resort, the hospitality of ALL the staff, the beauty of the grounds, the AMAZING food, and the uniqueness of each room. We cannot say enough about it! We stayed in one of the Beach Front Bungalow's and it was absolutely PERFECT! It was so private and perfect for us. The included breakfast and dinner was to die for! We added some appetizers and drinks to our meals and we're still talking about the food weeks later. Honestly, do yourself a favor when you're in Montezuma and stay at Ylang Ylang, you will not be disappointed.

This place is amazing, right off the ocean, but still feels like you're in the jungle. There's lots of monkeys and other wildlife that will be right by your room. The staff is amazing and friendly, and the food is delicious!

Ylang Ylang Beach Resort totally exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a secluded off the beaten track resort in CR, this is it! Half the adventure is getting to the resort. Loved how the resort is built to compliment the natural jungle surroundings. Saw many monkeys and other wildlife. Food was great, many healthy options. Optional tour to Curu Wildlife Refuge and Sunset tour with Eduardo were great! Alex and Leslie at the reception desk were extremely helpful with planning excursions and getting our Covid tests arranged. We stayed in one of the Family Beach Suites, so relaxing falling asleep to the waves crash just outside. Will definitely be back for another stay.
