Beautiful resort surrounded by nature! Exactly what we needed to relax on our 'babymoon'! The staff are amazing and genuinely happy to work there. It's a very quiet place even with some families bringing small children. For anyone with small children who is expecting 'kids space' or a babysitter - this is not where you want to go. It's very much a chill nature spot. If you are looking for a crazy place to party and get drunk, this is not it. But if you want somewhere to take it easy, enjoy excellent food, and see the ocean out of your windows, you'll love it here! The spa is lovely and there are excursions and yoga classes available for extra fees rather than the price being marked up to include things you may not do. All around, a wonderful place that I would definitely visit again!…
We stayed for 6 nights with our two kids. The staff were without exception amazing and the place gives off a true paradise vibe. We settled into a routine immediately with coffee at sunrise and wonderful breakfast. Adventure and rest during the day. Pool late afternoon. Sunsets and more amazing food for dinner. The flora and fauna are incredible. This is a small relaxed place past the end of the road. People have to work to get here so everyone there really wants to be there. Perfect experience. Thank you.
We were there for the Ford/Goodhew wedding. Ylang Ylang resort and staff could not do enough for the 42 of us that were there. The rooms where very nice. The beds were so comfortable, great nights sleep. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was OUTSTANDING!!!! One of the best weddings I have ever attended. So happy that we were able to travel from Canada for this special day. Loved the pool area. The whole resort was very clean.
Really nice resort - not too big and tucked out of the way along the beach from town. Staff very friendly, food great, location perfect. We stayed in a garden cabin right next to the ocean; lulled to sleep by the crash of the waves, woken by the mating call of the Woodrail - piercing!!
The beach bungalows were amazing. Sitting on the patio at night was great. The staff was remarkable and very accommodating. The food was spectacular, especially local dishes. It was an experience!
Great place to relax and chill out with delicious food, beautiful views, and great tours through the resort. A little hard to get to, but worth it. If you’re vegan then I can’t recommend Ylang Ylang enough. My wife and I looked forward to every meal and there were plenty of options and a full vegan menu. Staff were very friendly but not intrusive, and the rooms were cozy. Definitely geared towards adults, which was a plus for us. Spa was also amazing. We stayed for a week and can’t wait to go back.
Our wonderful stay at Ylang Ylang from 2/25/23 – 2/28/23 was just the best ever. What a fun and beautiful place nestled in the jungle with the monkeys, birds you name it. Our bungalow was really cool. Access to the beach foot steps away. The staff and service is a 5 star plus for sure. We only wished we could of stayed longer. This place is a gem in Montezuma. Food and drinks, perfect. I want to give a shout out to some of the staff naming Patricia (my Costa Rica sister now) and Darrien whom are servers etc. in the eating area. What beautiful people and so kind and fun. Then the manager Jeff (I think his name is) was so great helping us with everything. And OH MY, Cynthia a massage therapist was amazing. BEST MASSAGE EVER in my life. She has miracle hands and is so sweet. Please clone her and send her to my city please. So, you just can’t go wrong with picking this resort to stay at. It was perfect. Thank you everyone at Ylang Ylang. Denise & Dwayne, Chico, Ca..…
First off, you could not find a more beautiful place on earth for a wedding! The wedding coordinator was top notch and the food was delish! The entire staff was accommodating, friendly and lots of fun! The wildlife was everywhere! Also, they provide bonfires on the beach! The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was our room. It had two beds which made the room very cramped but still comfortable. The place was so beautiful you'ld be a fool to spend much time in your room anyhow.
We had such an amazing time at Ylang Ylang. Everything we needed was at the resort and if not, it was a short walk into town to get anything else. The staff were beyond helpful and courteous with making reservations, arranging transportation, and scheduling any activities/excursions we were interested in.
Montezuma area is absolutely gorgeous and Ylang Ylang is the place to be at! First we were unsure about getting to the resort because of the driving on the beach part but it was a breeze with our smaller all wheel drive. Not many other people parked at the hotel, I think most people arrive by other means and get to the hotel with its shuttle service. Renting the car was quite expensive, and once you're there, you don't really need it. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are a bit dated and be prepared for small lizards and ants visiting (we kept every food items in the fridge), the common areas (beach fronts, restaurant, pool) are beautiful. Technically every room/cabin is ocean front or ocean view. We stayed at Jungle King, which accommodates up to 6, so it was perfect for our family of 5. There is daily housekeeping which we honestly needed after all that time on the beach and activities. Breakfast and dinner delicious, service is amazing. Many people arrive from the States, and Western Europe. We saw families with younger kids, group of friends, older couples, perfect for everyone. We did all the activities that were offered: horseback riding, waterfall tour, zipline, surf lessons, Tortuga Island tour, yoga and meditation on the beach. All of them were wonderful for our kids aged 8 to 14, too. Surf lessons were the biggest hit, then zipline. Pool is perfect temperature, beds and hammocks available, perfect spot to chill. Favorite part is the small waterfall only 5 minutes walk from our room. Kids were busy building a dam around the waterfall's pool and watching the waterflow change every day. We walked into town several times, walk is easy, hot, we did not mind it at all. Had ice cream in town at the corner cafe several times, picked up snacks for the kids at the local mini-market, had lunch at the beachfront restaurant. Oh, and before I forgot, we have witnessed a turtle coming out of the water, making a nest, laying her eggs, and going back into water around 5pm one night, done in about an hour, right in front of the pool area of the resort. Visited Santa Theresa and that part was a disappointment. Coming from Montezuma, which is a spot in paradise, Santa Theresa was noisy, with traffic jam, a whole lot of dust and many-many people. Roads were a bit shaky but driveable (no concrete/asphalt, only rocks and dirt roads). Skip Santa Theresa and stay in Montezuma. We will be back. …
