The place is well located close to the Main Street and it is surrounded by the jungle. You will surely meet with monkeys and other animals. However the rooms must be renovated. I left this place with a back pain because the bed was terribly bad. Breakfast might be better as well for the price we paid, we were missing...

This was by far the best hotel we have stayed at in Costa Rica. We have traveled all over and Montezuma and the Luz de mono was phenomenal . We didn't make a reservation and Laura accommodated us with ease. She was very resourceful and helped us enjoy our surroundings. We were lucky enough to spend Christmas at this hotel...

Stayed for 5 days in Hotel Luz de Mono and spotted more wildlife there then in some of the national parks in Costa Rica. Capuchin and howler monkeys, pisotto's, agouti's, bats and then there's the pool iguana that shows up everyday to warm up by the pool. Apart from that the rooms are spacious and cleaned everyday (and come with...

We really loved our stay in Luz de Mono. We had originally booked two nights on booking.com and due to the hurricane Otto we were unable to reach Montezuma on time to stay there. The hotel were well within their rights to charge us for it, but instead they let us cancel for free. When we did finally make it...

Monkeys livea round the hotel. And they come to the hotel and nearby food places to beg for food. Squirels, birds, ant eaters and alot of other animals live in the area as well. They have a nice big pool and its 2 minutes fromcthe beach. The breakfast was ok - but not more than that. Now to the bad...

We stayed at Luz de Mono for one night and wish we had stayed longer. The family that runs the place were very helpful and seemed like genuinely nice people. We made a error in our dates and booked one more night than needed. From the cancellation policy from our booking they could have easily said "too bad" but when...

This hotel is located in a huge jungle garden with lots of wildlife. We saw Cappuchin monkeys, Agouti, Iguanas and heard Howler monkeys. We stayed in one of the ground floor private rooms. The room was basic but clean, with hot water. The best part of this hotel was the pool with resident iguana called Jorge. We relaxed around the...

Inside all the action but feels outside. Comfortable bungalow in the jungle with air conditioning and TV. Porch with hammock, teaming with wildlife, safe and secure feeling. Locked my keys in the car and killed my battery and what normally would have been an act of Congress, the staff got it done with great inginuity. Reasonable rates with awesome breakfast...

We are a young couple traveling relatively cheap. Pros: the hotel grounds are amazing. It feels like you're in the middle of a rainforest, even though you are meters away from the town. The pool is refreshing. It's only 2 minutes away from the (nicer) beach in town and 3 minutes from the main area with restaurants and bars and...

Just returned from a week long trip to Montezuma and stayed one night at Luz de Mono and loved it. I was travelling alone and felt welcome and safe at all times while staying there. Everything about my stay was perfect. I had emailed to make a reservation and they responded promptly to all questions that I had. The girls...
