This is my second stay at Vista Serena and I couldn't be happier! The rooms are clean and well-kept. As far as hostels go, you cannot beat it! And the views... Stunning. Nadia at the front desk could not have been more helpful! She went out of her way to help us book excursions and to ensure the best possible... More

My friends and I stayed here at the recommendation of the Lonely Planet review. We splurged for the bungalow suite which included air conditioned bedrooms and a private kitchen/living area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was great to have our own space to cook. However, the public kitchen for the rest of the hostel seemed large and spacious.... More

In all I spent 11 nights here. 3 of them were whilst travelling with friends and the other was when I returned because I loved it so much here. The views are fabulous, the atmosphere is brilliant with such a chilled vibe and the location is also perfect - just enough away from the tourist area but a simple 50... More

I'd rather not tell you how special the experience of Vista Serena can be in chance, but hopefully you are of like minded and will bring positive vibes with you. This was my first time to hostel and everyone there agreed that it was their favorite in Costa Rica. Such nice people, warm and welcoming, provided that you take the... More

Thank you for your review! We are happy you had a nice stay with us and enjoyed all the wildlife -jungle creatures and farm animals alike - that frequent our property! We definitely do enjoy chatting at the coffee pot in the morning and giving advice on anything from secret beach spots to best bang for your buck restaurants to... More

For $14 a night, this hostel was totally reasonable. We had a bathroom, a fan, and a sheet. Like most of the hostels in the area, it was humid and not as fancy as the hotel by the city. However, there was a beautiful view. It was clean. 300m from the bus stop to the beach. They have a puppy... More

A breathtaking view, lovely staff, and even a cute little sloth visitor! Vista Serena is an affordable yet comfortable hostel, situated in a beautiful location that is also perfectly convenient for backpackers. Even though I was traveling solo, I felt super safe in the dorm room, and really enjoyed meeting all the interesting travelers passing through.

We thought this place was fine. It had a few extra bugs but nothing egregious. We stayed in one of the bungalows, which was great since we had it to ourselves both nights. We even had our own kitchen, although we didn't use it. However, for travelers in high season, it's very likely that you'd be sharing this bungalow with... More

Out of the 4 hostels my friend and I stayed at during our trip to Costa Rica, vista serena was the one we stayed at the longest and absolutely loved the most. We had the hardest time leaving. It was the cleanest, and well-kept hostel we visited, and the rooms and a/c was great, as well as the whole atmosphere... More

Honestly cannot fault this hostel, everything was incredible! Beautiful sunset with hammocks to chill in, great kitchen facilities and rooms were comfy and cleaned daily (go for A/C option, it's definitely worth it!). I stayed in a 4 person dorm which had everything you need! You'll meet some amazing people here and make friends for life! Sonia, Leah and Nadia... More

Out of the last five years of constant traveling, in and out of hostels all around the world. Hostel Vista Serena was hands down one of the best I have ever stayed at. Beautiful views, beautiful people, smoothie bar, great rooms, the a/c is excellent, kitchens and main areas are really well up kept, the staff all are very lovely... More

The hostel is nestled into the heart of the jungle in Manuel Antonio center with a breathtaking ocean and sunset view over the green canopy. From very affordable dormitory bunk beds to slightly more luxurious private rooms with ocean view- we have it all and it all comes with a free continental breakfast in the morning! The common terrace area has hammocks for lounging and reading a book or just taking a snooze amongst the squawks of scarlet macaws and the touch of the ocean breeze.
