they somehow didnt book me in for the nights i reserved with them, and even showed the e-mails stating my days. BUT, I will not complain because they absolutely helped us as fast as they could to get us situated. there were no rooms available at there main location, so they rented us the top floor of a rental house... What a charming hostel! The views from the deck are spectacular and there is no shortage of hammocks. The washroom/showers were clean and tidy and featured hot/warm/cold water settings for those really warm days. We stayed in a four bunk bed dorm with lockers because it was affordable and had air conditioning. Definitely go with the A/C option if you... More

Any hesitations I had about traveling alone in Central America were immediately squashed the second I walked into Vista Serena..The hostel is quiet, safe, clean and all of the staff are AMAZING!!!! Any questions I had were easily answered and their recommendatins were always spot on! Especially Leah, without her, my stay would have been nowhere near as incredible. The... More

Wow! This hostel has it all! I was traveling around Costa Rica for a few weeks and this was the best hostel. It has a simple but good breakfast with all the coffee you could imagine. You could get lost up on the terrace looking out onto to pacific ocean from one of their many hammocks. The staff is what... More

Never wrote a negative review on ta before. Came to serena vista for 2 days. When we arrived, the guy behind de desk (short haired tico) was too busy watching his screen to help us, which happens more often in hostels and is not that big of a deal. We were in a 4-person dorm with good matresses. The room... More

WOW this place is just the best one! The staff is really helpful and friendly, everything is clean, you have access to board game but the best of it his the hammock set up! From this place you are going to see the best sunset! We rented a private room, shared bathrom and it was really nice for us. We... More

The view is absolutely incredible! We spent most of our time on the deck in hammocks overlooking the ocean. The sunsets were amazing. We stayed in a private room that shared a kitchen, living room, and bathroom with one other room. The room was nice, AC worked great, and the shared spaces were nicely decorated.

We stayed in a 4 person mixed dorm. We were under the impression that we would have air conditioning as their website says that ALL 4 person dorms have AC. This is NOT true. They have some with AC and some that only have a fan. This was rather unfortunate as it was over 90 degrees during the days we... More

I stayed for three days in January and loved every minute of it. I got a private room and that was a good decision. The dorms were a lot of young, early 20's kids and the private rooms were great for those looking for something quieter. My room was perched on the vista, the views were epic, you laid in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is nestled into the heart of the jungle in Manuel Antonio center with a breathtaking ocean and sunset view over the green canopy. From very affordable dormitory bunk beds to slightly more luxurious private rooms with ocean view- we have it all and it all comes with a free continental breakfast in the morning! The common terrace area has hammocks for lounging and reading a book or just taking a snooze amongst the squawks of scarlet macaws and the touch of the ocean breeze. There is also a fully equipped communal kitchen and TV lounge with cable and dvds to watch. The spread out set up of the cabins allows us to be both family friendly and also party friendly, bringing together a unique combo of the two. Just remember at Hostel Vista Serena we host the fun!!
