Awesome little restaurant just out back, super cheap & delicious! A full breakfast of beans, rice, toast, eggs, and a plantain for only $4. The view of the ocean offers spectacular sunsets that left me excited to come back from my adventures and on the balcony at the end of the night.
If Visiting Manuel Antonio I highly recommend visiting this little Soda for a $4 breakfast. The BEST Traditional Costa Rican breakfast I had in the 10 days visiting the country and definitely the most affordable. The Pinto Gallo was to die for! You will not be hungry for the rest of the day : ) The owner, Ramiro, is the sweetest guy and was a great resource for local places to visit. We wanted to adopt him! He also has a 2 for 1 Happy Hour with delicious drinks. The specialty coffee drinks were AMAZING! Please support this awesome locally owned Soda. : )
First off, the Vista Serena is a small cozy hostel up on the hill on the way to Manuel Antonio. I stayed there for 3 nights in a female dorm (4 bunk beds). Although the hostel might appear a bit rustic, it is clean, the view is fantastic and it is good value for money. To start off: if you want to visit Manuel Antonio you either stay on the hill or you stay in the village of Quepos. The first option is to be preferred as most restaurants and shops including supermarkets are located uphill on route to Manuel Antonio. As far as I have heard Quepos get very quite at night and appears to be unsafe to be out at night. A friend who stayed there preferred to drive up to Vista Serena to enjoy the view as well as to go out for dinner at night. Also the breakfast at the little "diner" across from the hostel is great value as well as all other meals. In case you want to cook your own dinner, the hostel also has a kitchen available for guest use and supermarkets are close by.…
My husband and I traveled from San Jose to Manuel Antonio not knowing what hotel to book during our taxi ride i searched and found this affordable hostel i booked in less that 5 minutes and im glad i did!! When arriving before check in time our room was ready so we were able to go in before and the view we received was amazing also the we got the room with a kitchen and living room and a fan. It felt like we were in our home or our dream home. Nothing fancy but warming, also the food was delicious from a small restaurant they have near the main office. It is not close to Manuel Antonio we had to take a bus they offered taxis but the bus was so much fun and welcoming. We only stayed one night even if we wanted to stay longer we then moved to a hotel closer to the beach and food, There is more restaurants up a 5 minutes walk up the hill. Over all, for a hostel and the price I was very satisfied with a beautiful view to the ocean and a hammock.…
I liked this place very much. For starters, the view from the front deck is breathtaking. Perched on a hill, it’s a perfect spot for birding. Scarlet macaws and many other species of birds fly by all the time. Diego and his staff are incredibly helpful in booking tours and connections. The cleaning crew and the folks at the restaurant are also very friendly and helpful. The dorms are basic and would definitely feel small if the maximum number of people it would hold are squeezed inside. But I was there during low season and there was hardly anyone. The staff did everyone a service by spacing us out across the rooms so that for 4 nights, I had the whole room to myself even though I only paid for a bed. Vista Serena might be a little crowded in high season but in low season, it is an absolute gem. …
