Issimo suites is a lovely boutique hotel that caters to couples (or at least adults). We stayed on a room with two full walls of glass with a balcony and views from southwest to northwest. Spectacular scenery over a shallow bay in the Pacific looking towards mountains in the distance. Our room had a comfortable feel with a king sized bed, jacuzzi and shower. Nice plus was a walk in closet sufficient to hold our bags with shelves and hanging space for our clothing. This made the room feel tidy, as it hid our luggage, and this made the feel of the room that much more special. This and the daily visit from the white-faced monkeys, who crossed in front of our window and onto the balcony, before scampering up to the very top of the hotel. The main floor has a restaurant, which one passes through on the way to the sunning deck with comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas, and the pool. We enjoyed an hour in the pool each afternoon around 4PM, and we took advantage of happy hour to enjoy margaritas without leaving the water. We dined in the restaurant three times for a tasty breakfast, which was included, and for two dinners. The beef tenderloin was fantastic, whether prepared with a blackberry reduction or with mushrooms. I prefer my steak rare, and they cooked it to perfection both times. Nice capresse salad or salmon carpaccio as a starter, and the passion fruit cheesecake was delicious. Also liked the Margarita Issimo, which was their special version of margarita and very nice indeed. Finishing with the staff, we found them to be super welcoming and friendly. They remembered who we were after first meeting us, and they made us feel appreciated at all times. They offer golf cart rides down to the beach entrance and up to the shops, although we preferred to walk up and down the winding road. Highly recommend Issimo Suites, and we shall stay here again next time we visit the area.

My father and I stayed 7 nights (from July 29 to August 5, 2023) in this hotel. This and its staff have exceeded all our expectations. I think you can't compete with the stunning views from the terraces and rooms. We had been to Manuel Antonio before, but in no hotel had we found such beautiful views over the Pacific Ocean, such tranquility and beauty. The hotel is a haven of peace. From the terrace you can see and hear birds and monkeys up close.
In our opinion, the hotel is not that far from either the small Biesanz Beach or the large public beach. We liked the large beach more, because it was quieter and less noisy with much fewer people than on Biesanz Beach. Until five in the afternoon the hotel offers a free shuttle service (in golf carts) to a supermarket in the center of Manuel Antonio, which is very useful, because the climb is quite exhausting. The descent is much easier, it doesn't take more than 20 minutes and half an hour on foot.
The rooms and terraces are very comfortable, as are the mattresses, which are neither too soft nor too firm. We have rarely slept so well. The espresso machine allows you to prepare absolutely delicious coffee. In addition, there is also a filter coffee maker for those who prefer that type of coffee. That allows one to have a coffee before breakfast if one gets up very early.
Almost next door to the hotel is a very affordable gym with very friendly staff offering single-day, three-day or week-long passes.
Thank you very much for this week in paradise. We hope to return.

What a week! My husband and I recently got home from my 30th birthday trip to Costa Rica, where we stayed at the Issimo Suites Boutique Hotel and Spa. What an amazing stay with an amazing group of people who made our first time visiting the country SPECTACULAR! The staff went above and beyond with their level of hospitality even before we arrived. As if the room and view couldn't get any more beautiful, they coordinated with my husband to surprise me with our room decorated and set up with candles, rose petals, balloons, champagne, fresh fruit, and more.
Our service throughout the stay was beyond wonderful. Every member of the staff, including the owner, took the time to talk and get to know us. We enjoyed our conversations with each one of them and felt so welcomed. Although every moment was great, one of the highlights of our stay was the food. Most of our favorite meals throughout the week came straight from the onsite restaurant, including a few specially made, local dishes for us to try. The location of this hotel is the best of both worlds, with equally breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding jungle. Our room was equally fantastic, especially with the private balcony where we could sit and enjoy the monkeys and birds only feet away.
Our new friends at the Issimo exceeded all our expectations, making my birthday one I will never forget. Thank you to the entire team for all your kindness and hospitality—we cannot wait to return!

From the moment we landed in Costa Rica, we felt embraced by the warmth of the land and its people. Our driver, Josue, safely transported us to Issimo Suites Boutique Hotel & Spa in Manuel Antonio. The three-hour drive from the airport was punctuated by delightful stops for empanadas, fresh coconut water, fruit, and a visit to "Crocodile Bridge."
Upon our arrival at Issimo, we were greeted with champagne, as if the staff had been eagerly anticipating us. The check-in process was seamless, and we were invited to leave our bags while the concierge guided us through the hotel’s stunning grounds. We explored the restaurant, pool area, and the beautiful spa, designed like an intimate cave. Our spacious room was immaculate, featuring a jacuzzi, stand-up shower, balcony, and a bidet. Just outside our balcony, a curious capuchin monkey peeked at us as if to say, "Welcome," before darting away.
Breakfast each morning was a delightful experience, thanks to the lovely Julia, our attentive server. She greeted us with a vibrant platter of fresh fruit as soon as we sat down, demonstrating her commitment to ensuring we had a wonderful start to our day. Julia was also happy to share her knowledge about Costa Rica.
Dinner featured daily specials, and the staff welcomed personal requests based on available ingredients. Don’t miss the red snapper! Our evening server, Randal, took great pride in his work, always personable and well-informed about local hotspots to explore.
After a week, we truly felt a connection with both Julia and Randal. Issimo is fortunate to have such dedicated team members.
This charming hotel offers a peaceful retreat, perfect for those looking to escape the party scene of nearby Jaco. For us, coming from a bustling city, it was a perfect antidote to the chaos of daily life.
Our stay celebrated my wife’s milestone birthday, and Issimo went above and beyond. The restaurant surprised us with a beautifully decorated table in the morning, and our evening included a private dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean. Our vacation was unforgettable, thanks to the incredible staff and our drivers. Costa Rica is filled with wonderful people, and we can’t wait to return!

Issimo Suites was the perfect getaway for my boyfriend and I. The resort was spotless, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their friendliness and attention to detail were unmatched by anywhere else we have been. We were greeted with champagne as we arrived and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning. The lush greenery and ocean vista views from the resort were breathtaking and tranquil. Watching the playful monkeys from our balcony added a unique charm to our stay.
The hotel made everything seamless by booking an animal guide for our visit to Manuel Antonio National Park, which greatly enriched our experience. The guide’s knowledge made it easy to spot wildlife we might have missed on our own. This resort is ideal for couples seeking a romantic and relaxing trip. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Issimo for its incredible service, stunning location, and unforgettable ambiance!

I just spent seven days here and it was amazing. The staff is above and beyond and very knowledgeable about the area. We got our own coffee and filters so we could avoid the high cost as well as had the refrigerator emptied of the beverages because we brought our own. A monkey was on our balcony the first morning they are so great to see as well as all the other wildlife in the area. Only complaint is the golf cart was not available due to a bad battery and we were planning on it to get to the beach and the store. There is a path to the direct beach but we were warned there could be snakes and it got steep so we did not take it, I posted a picture of it. The walk to the beach is a bit of a hike and gets tiring going up hill on the way back but it's not to bad. Breakfast was great and the servers were fantastic. The front desk well call a taxi to get wherever you want to go. We did the catamaran tour and the national park both were great.

A small (13 rooms) boutique 80's era hotel with a gorgeous view out to sea from the pool deck, restaurant, and the higher rooms. Walking distance to two nice beaches and golf-cart ride into town for good restaurants (you'll need to catch a taxi or Uber back after 5pm however).
There's a hotel restaurant with decent choices and amazingly attentive staff (Randall and Julia especially).
Served breakfast is included, and has a changing themed menu with fruit plate, eggs, granola, toast and sometimes rice and beans, sausage, or ham (and coffee or tea).
We had a couples massage on the last day which was excellent; possibly the most intense pressure ever (and I've had lots of PT workovers).
Negatives: • The front desk staff was earnest and friendly but screwed up a restaurant reservation and our Mangrove Kayaking tour (we were surprised at breakfast by "the tour is here!" when the front desk had confirmed it was in the afternoon). We also booked a "Penthouse Suite" but got a lower room with a lesser view (but fewer stairs and better wifi). For a high-priced hotel with only 13 rooms, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect better (especially when we tend to confirm things multiple times). On the positive side, they were very flexible on our checkout day about luggage storage and pool use. • The wifi is decent on the lobby level, but flakey up one level. Not a tough problem to solve with a modest wiring investment.

My Husband and I went on our honeymoon to Costa Rica in April 2023. We had the best time and Issimo Suites was an amazing place to stay. We stayed in the Ocean View Honeymoon Suite, and woke up each morning to the most spectacular views. The staff was incredible in helping us book activities, get transportation around the city and to anywhere we needed to go.
The hotel was in a great location, only a short drive into downtown Quepos, and right around the corner from several great restaurants, bars, and shopping in Manuel Antonio. It was also only a short walk to several picturesque beaches. Whether you were looking for an up beat beach with lots of other people or a secluded private beach, Issimo Suites had an option for everyone.
The pool at the hotel and the restaurant, Terrazza, offered breath taking views of the pacific. We would highly recommend dinner at the Terrazza to watch the sunset, the food and service was outstanding, there is even live music several nights a week. The complimentary breakfast and coffee overlooking the pacific were amazing as well.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Issimo Suites. We can't recommend them highly enough, and can't wait until we are able to go back!

Issimo Suites was a breathtakingly intimate hotel with an incredible staff. The views are unparalleled and the property is very small and private. We had an issue with our room the first night and the front desk handled it perfectly and ended up giving us a very generous upgrade. We were so impressed with the smooth service and wonderful new room.Â
The restaurant on the property had excellent food and the breakfast (which is included) rotated every day. All of the staff were attentive, gracious, and kind. I wish I could remember everyone’s names but Julia and Geiner were especially fabulous. We celebrated my birthday while I was staying here and they remembered and made it very special with birthday tiramisu. Geiner also makes an incredible Pina Colada. All of the drinks were excellent and the 2-for-1 happy hour was a lovely perk.
It is about an 8 min walk to Biesanz beach but it is a bit steep on the hill. Bring good shoes. Likewise, if you like to walk, it is about a 15-minute walk to the main road with most of the restaurants and shops but it is also steep. We love to walk so it was no problem but the hotel can also call a taxi which is about $10 to go up the hill.
We saw more wildlife from the porch of the property than we did in the National park. It seemed to be a place where all animals gathered after 3 pm. I stayed with my mom. We both loved it however it is a very romantic property. It would be ideal for couples. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for something luxurious but also intimate.

After 10 days in La Fortuna and Monte Verde, we ended our trip in Manuel, Antonio. Thankfully we chose to stay here. They only have around 14 suites and it is adult only. We had one of the honeymoon suites and it was a very large room with tons of space and plenty of places to sit and relax. You made read comments about the bathroom, not having a door, and we had some reservations about that as well. However, the room is so large that we really did have the needed privacy. An amazing view of the ocean and we were visited every day by the most amazing wildlife. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and felt like we became friends with our servers by the time we left. After a day out sightseeing, we would return and relax by the pool for a couple hours. Our waiter was always waiting with a perfectly made martini :-) This is the definition of a small boutique hotel. My wife and I’ve been fortunate to travel the world and we become more and more convinced that if you’re traveling as a couple, the smaller more intimate boutique hotels are the way to go. My wife had a massage and said it was absolutely fantastic! We ate dinner all night in the restaurant, and it was excellent as well. Also, I needed some laundry done and for a hotel it was very affordable and beautifully done the same day. I really can’t say enough about this hotel and we will definitely book here when we return next year.

Hi Raul,
We recommend our own private shuttle service for several reason, No stress towards driving in a country that you do not know yet and might not be acquaintance with, You can do as many stops as you want and no issues with the driver which normally suggests sight seen on the way, drivers speaks English and you will not be sharing this with anyone else. Payment is done through the hotel so no cash or CC is needed in the transportation. All you need to do is enjoy the ride and relax on your way to the hotel.
Resort is Cliffside so you can definitely see the water it is maybe a quarter of a mile walk down to a smaller beach and it is maybe a mile to the large public beach you can rent chairs umbrellas at any of the beaches or bring your own stuff
There are more places to choose from in the Manuel Antonio area.
