Beautiful hotel nestled in the jungle right at the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most beautiful parks in a country known for its natural beauty. The wonderful beach is a 2 minute walk. The hotel was quiet, immaculately clean, with lush well-tended gardens and a beautiful pool. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive to our every need. The staff has obviously been well-trained in customer service that translates across all nations. We would highly recommend this charming hotel.
This place was so great to stay at. Monkeys around the hotel property - super close distance to everything necessary - the park, restaurants, markets. The staff was so accommodating and kind and really wanted us to have the best time and got to know our plans to ensure we had the best deals and best time. Ronnie and Aaron were both so good to us and we definitely would come back. Super recommend. Pura vida!
We called prior, and made sure the rooms had AC, and a safe as advertised. This was confirmed by Darian Sr. We requested a first floor room with two beds as one member of our group is mobility impaired. The parking in the alley is frightening at best. When we arrived, we were shown a room that was painfully hot and very musty. When we turned the AC on, a mildew stench started filling the room. When we searched for a safe, there was none. There were no towels in the room at all. We went to the front desk, and they provided some raggedy mismatched towels. They also told us all the room safes had been removed that very day, but the employees would be glad to hold our valuables for us in the office. I simply don't like being lied to. We demanded an immediate refund of our cash because of the insane mildew and lack of a safe as promised. We stayed across the street at the Bada for not much more money, we got a fantastic room with a safe.…
I guess you get what you pay for? And with La Posada, you’re paying for proximity to the park…. And unfortunately not much else. The hotel really needs to give their marketing a huge raise because the photos make it look amazing! Pros: - You cannot get closer to the park. Seriously you are right there next to it. - Pet friendly! (But be careful with the roving monkeys, I was concerned the dog would get TOO curious) - Friendly staff with helpful recommendations - breakfast included. Not a lot of variety, but a nice base before you head to the park. Cons: - As I mentioned, the photos are SO misleading. The rooms were poorly lit, with paint peeling and wall corners crumbling. The smoke detector looked like it had been smashed with a hammer - Parking is a mess… The hotel technically has two spots but they’re not easy to get in and out of and usually blocked by tourists and your buses. Would not recommend driving. - The shower curtain was moldy and there was someone’s pre-used bar of soap in the shower. The shower drain had a gaping hole, which led to numerous bathroom buddies (including fully grown crabs….) - No lamps in the room, just the one set of overhead lights. The only plugs we could find were behind the refrigerator that didn’t work Incredibly thin walls walls so you can hear all of your neighbors - No backup generator for when the electricity (and AC!) go out - Very sketchy payment system. We were told we were getting a special deal but then it ended up being the same price as the Airbnb rate. Annoying, fine, whatever. But when we went to pay, they were reallly pushy about preferring cash-only payments, which we were not comfortable with.…
This place is absolutely amazing! Right next to the national park and a block from the beach it's the perfect location. The staff is super helpful and nice the rooms are clean and spacious. Ronnie in particular went Above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed he even took us out in the evening to show us nocturnal animals like the boa constrictor and tree frogs. Can't wait to go back.
A huge shout-out to Rony, who was so welcoming, generous and friendly to us from the moment we arrived. We were celebrating our recent engagement, and on arrival Rony upgraded us to a much better room , and provided us with wine and lovely decorations in our room, completely free of charge. What a welcome! The second floor room was lovely and spacious, excellent value for money. The air con worked really well and the room was kept spotless by the cleaning staff. Whilst having a dip in the pool we were lucky to see a huge 'jesus lizard' run past! The hotel itself backs onto Manuel Antonio National Park, and is bustling with wildlife in the plants and gardens. We happened to see deer, capuchins, howler monkeys, lizards and so much more without even having to leave the hotel. You are able to book exciting excursions through the hotel desk, such as mangrove kayaking and national park guides (both highly recommended). A generous breakfast is included free of charge too, and the staff serving are all so friendly. Would love to come back one day - this truly was an incredible start to our 2 week trip to Costa Rica. Thank you so much to Rony and the other staff for making our stay so special. Carla and Matt :)…
Ronnie greeted us on arrival with plenty of Pura Vida very friendly. Our second floor villa was incredibly spacious and comfortable with kicking AC for our family of 5. The location is steps away from the National Park. The tour desk in the hotel makes booking guides and tours very easy. Very tasty breakfast. Clean lovely small pool. Easy walk to the beach. Aaron helped us book great tours. We used Hans for our guide in the park and saw tons of animals. You can go across the street and swim in the lovely pool at San Bada and get drinks/food at the pool.
It was another totally relaxing time at the La Posada Hotel pool and at the ocean. I have stayed there for the last 10-12 years. It is located in beautiful Manuel Antonio with it’s gorgeous sunsets. La Posada is located within a short distance of the beach and right next to the National Park. Casual beach eateries and nice restaurants are all within walking distance. Managers, Damion and Andy, are a husband and wife team who address your questions and make you feel a part of the La Posada family. You know they want your vacation to be the best ever. The rooms are clean ……….thanks to Ove, Maxwell, and Allen. Rony and Damion “ 2”, the front desk staff, are so willing to make the time pleasurable. They will arrange transportation and tours and answer questions that make your stay more enjoyable. You feel a part of the Costa Rica culture with the daily “local visitors” - monkeys, iguanas, coatis ( Costa Rica raccoon.). I really enjoy the casual atmosphere and friendly reception given at La Posada. Thank you!…
We have stayed here year after year, and it was so great to be back in 2022. Why choose this hotel ? It is steps from the National Park so you hear and see wildlife everyday and you can easily go to the Park for multiple days. They sell tours and tickets right at the front desk. The location is amazing, but the staff are even more amazing. Ronny is the heart of the hotel and makes you feel like family and is around every afternoon and evening and working tours each morning. Arron will find just the right tour or guide for you. Alan and Damien will greet you each morning and deliver a wonderful breakfast to your table and answer any questions you may have during the day. Ube and Max are cooking/cleaning experts, as they start int he Kitchen preparing breakfast at 6am each day and then cleans all the rooms and serve you with great JOY. If you want to see nature, relax by the pool, hang at the beach or take a tour in the area, this is a great place to call home during your vacation. It is not a "Resort", but it is clean, comfortable, the AC keeps you cool, and it is very quiet at night. If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience and a chance to get to know some great local people that care that you have an enjoyable stay....this is the place for you. It is Pura Vida. We cannot wait to go back and miss our Costa Rican family already.…
We are repeat guest and have spent many nights in Room #2, and always depart rested and restored. For first timers , it is a lot like what we call “glamming in the USA”. You have AC, a bed, a shower and the focus is on nature and people. Our porch faced the National Park and we saw monkeys, Toucans, deer, and birds daily. The plunge pool is refreshing in the afternoon while communing with other guest and a great place to watch for wildlife. It is quiet and peaceful at night and you awake to the howler monkeys roar each morning. Ubea , the cook and housekeeper, is amazing… she cooks breakfast for all each morning and then cleans all 13 rooms herself…. Amazing. Damien Jr (not Damien the manager) runs the office in the morning and Ronny in the evening and they do a great job checking guest in and out, and advises on anything you need. Ronny has an awesome welcoming personality and made us feel right at home. Aaron and Andy work the tour desk and can take care of all your tour needs. Damien , the manager, was around many morning and he and Andy are like family….. they will provide any help you need. Oh and Maxwell fills in to help on days needed and.when he does he cleans everything in site….and is so joyful hope to see him become part of the full time staff. We had an awesome visit, and cherished the time away. We will miss the cooked to order breakfast each day, the wildlife, the people and the peace, as we return home.…
