The place was super clean and with a nice style, the staff was incredibly kind, they allow us to do a late checkout. Common areas are small, but we didn't need much. Although the view was to the jungle and not to the sea, it was nice! Monkeys were just in front of us playing and jumping and we can saw them.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jungle Vista. The room was comfortable and well-appointed and the location was excellent. The little town of Manuel Antonio is accessible by walking and had wonderful restaurants (the Thai restaurant, Samui, was excellent) and little shops, including a small supermarket. The larger sister resort, Los Altos, is within walking distance (very hilly, as is most of this area of CR) and we often used their amenities, free to Jungle Vista guests, during the day. The Los Altos pool, pool bar, and restaurant are all wonderful. The restaurant, Karola's, is both casual and classy. We ate there often, and it was excellent every time, as was the food at the pool bar. The staff are excellent. Jungle Vista is close to town, but when you sit on your terrace, it feels truly in the jungle. During our visit, from our terrace we saw a sloth, scarlet macaws every evening, howler monkeys and white-faced monkeys (close enough to see, but they don't bother with guests, we watched them climbing, swinging, and whooping - quite a show), and one night a toucan was perched in a very close tree, just looking out over the greenery. We often used the Los Altos amenities during the day because of construction. But at the end of the day, we returned to the smaller, quieter JV, to enjoy the lovely terrace overlooking the jungle, and the 2 small pools, which are warm enough to swim in any time of night - a nice way to end the day. A wonderful stay.

We were booked to stay 5 nights at this hotel. The photos they show are from last year. It has been completely levelled and rebuilt and is not ready to be occupied. One tower was just a concrete shell with a green tarp over it. The rooms are beautifully decorated, but the plumbing does not work. We had 2 rooms. One was on level 2 and one on level 3. The showers do not drain properly. Both toilets clogged after one use and there was nothing to clog them. They provided us with a plunger, but the toilet on the second floor could not be unplugged. We cancelled the rest of our stay after meeting with the manager. We had to pay the one night, but were not penalized for cancelling the rest. They did not provide any assistance to help us find another hotel. We managed to find one down the street that was fantastic and much better. Do not stay here.

Unfortunately, this air bnb or lodge as the concierge called it, was merely under construction when we went and we did not have a positive experience. However, it does have a lot of potential when all the kinks are repaired. When we went, there was a guest who got stuck in the elevator for 30 minutes, our hot water did not work, the electricitiy went out for less than an hour, the wifi did not work and the tv was not set up. Still, the location was fantastic, literally walking distance to many hip restaurants and the beach. We told the staff about the short falls and hope they do better for future guests.

This was a great place for what it’s worth. The unit was very clean, and very well decorated. We only had two complaints. One was that the pictures and description led us to believe we had a view of the beach and/or it was very close and easily accessible. This is not correct. Los Altos resort, which is the resort included within the Villa, is about a half mile walk-all up hill. Then if you want to get to the beach, you have to walk quite a bit down the mountain side, which we didn’t do for not wanting to walk back up. The second complaint is located within the first. This was not the best location. Many of the locals did not know where this was located, so to get transportation we had to walk all the way up to Los Altos to be picked up. We walked the half mile hill at least 2x daily for our stay. This shouldn’t be a deterrent, as it really wasn’t that bad. I just want future tenants to be aware. Also, this unit is a part of a building that has about 5 units. The walls are quite thin. We had one other family below us while we were there, and could hear everything. We heard all the jungle noises all night, and the traffic outside. Again, don’t let the deter you. This was a super cute place to stay, and well worth the money. We would definitely stay here again. Just wanted you to have all the information prior to booking. Also-the neighboring construction was not a big deal. They don’t work all night or on the weekends. They do start rather early, but that’s because the sun goes down at 530pm. We were up and out early to explore anyway. The amenities at Los Altos resort were fantastic. The breakfast (which is not free) was absolutely fantastic. They provide a buffet breakfast every morning with an unbelievable view. The resort property also boasts varying wildlife! We saw monkeys, sloths, macaws, iguanas, and more while walking the property and/or enjoying breakfast.
