I was looking for a hotel in Manuel Antonio for a few nights to stay by myself before meeting up with friends, and La Mariposa seemed like the perfect fit. Great pool, nice rooms, beautiful views. At first I thought it was out of my budget, but closer to the date I managed to get a great rate that I couldn't pass up. When I arrived, I was so pleased with how close it was to the main road (something I hadn't thought of when booking). Very convenient! I spent my mornings enjoying the breakfast buffet (with a view) and relaxing by the pool. The staff was so friendly and helpful. My room, while not in the main building, was a jungle bungalow, and I LOVED it! It was pretty big, especially for one person, but I didn't mind. There were glass doors that opened to stunning greenery, and while an ocean view is always nice, this was something different, and a wonderful surprise that I'll never forget. I would absolutely stay there again, and recommend to anyone visiting Manuel Antonio. Pura Vida!…
We spent 4 nights in one of their update apartments at this hotel. We are family of 5 and enjoyed the fantastic view from our 3 bedroom apartment. Wonderful to wake up and sip a delicious cup of Costa Rican coffee overlooking beautiful views of the rainforest and ocean with sounds of wildlife (including howler monkeys) each morning. The hotel grounds and ocean views from the main hotel are incredible. Staff are top notch. The restaurant has some of the best food in the area.
We couldn’t stay away!!! The drinks are something special and the staff go wayyy out of their way!! Pina colada crazzzzzy! Definitely make this place a stop on your adventures through CR. Sunset drinks and a swim up bar what more can you ask for???
We'll be back, not for visiting the national park. We would forego that. Mass tourism... a pity. But the hotel with the hospitality and the brilliant location are recommendable. Also the surrounding restaurants are worth a visit.
The hotel was beautiful! The view from the pool and dining area were absolutely gorgeous...probably the best spot to watch the amazing sunset! The rooms were clean and spacious. Everyone was super friendly and the location was perfect for getting anywhere in San Miguel. The breakfast was delicious...especially loved the made to order omelets/eggs. Jose Chacos at Le Papillion was great! He made the best margaritas and always made sure we doing okay with food/drinks. He was also very accomodating to my little girls when they would go and order from him. We say monkeys, iguanas, toucans, macaws and more. Overall, it was an excellent stay and we will definitely be back to stay here again.
