Spent a couple days in Manual Antonio at La Mariposa. Stunning views of ocean and national park from our third floor balcony. Oh, and the pool: what a welcome spot for a lazy day of pure relaxation. The monkeys come through morning and night to entertain guests and remind us all how nature behaves and protects their own. This is... More

We have stayed at this hotel before. This is by far the best hotel in town. It has lovely manicured gardens, great sunset views, a relaxed pura vida atmosphere and is close to the best eating places in town. The breakfast is sumptous and the pool side ambience is perfect. Plus if you are driving the parking is free. It... More

Very pleased with our stay. The view is second to none, from the time you climb the stairs to reception and look through the arch way to the dining room, the view is stunning. We were happy with our room choice premier ocean view. The rooms were sparse but well appointed with everything you need. The sofa was great in... More

We were guaranteed a premium king room with ocean view, with no steps...as my husband cannot navigate them well. You CLEARED ALL OF THIS WITH RESERVATIONS before I booked. I was guaranteed these things. No king bed. Then moved to room with 19 narrow steps. Problems with air conditioning, blew directly on me. No sleep for 2 of 3 nights.... More

The hotel has great ocean views. The infinity pool is a great way to relax and enjoy the views. The room is comfortable, but i do recommend staying in the main building. It is tiring walking up and down the stairs and around the hotel. I didnt mind but can understand it could be difficult for older adults. There was... More

I cannot imagine how any hotel/resort experience could be as good as, let alone better than, a stay at the Mariposa in Quepos Costa Rica. The hotel is situated on the highest point above Quepos and almost adjacent to the Manuel Antonio National Park. The 180 degree view from the terrace of the hotel, where the buffet breakfast is served,... More

This hotel is beautiful. We drove here and it was a bit difficult to find - you have to make a right off of the main road by the Supermercado and Falafel place. I had called and asked ahead of time for a refrigerator for my room for my medicine and I am really glad I did. we were in... More

First off, before even getting to the hotel, La Mariposa has an amazing online chat service that you can use to ask whatever questions you may have before booking the hotel, and even after you've booked and before you arrive. Secondly, my fiance and I upgraded our room to the full Ocean View room and it was absolutely incredible! We... More

Didn't even have our reservation confirmed -- got to hotel only to realize they didn't have a room for us. Had to wait several hours to get a room. Then, instead of the room we requested, we got put in a first floor garden room that had a terrible layout. Upon asking for what we had reserved, the reservations department... More

Dear Gayzwhotravel, Thank you very much for your report; Although it is full of lies and unfair, WE DO RESPECT YOUR OPINION. First of all, we recall the nice conversations we had at our Front desk when you and your boyfriend were arguing about personal situations. Let's start saying, that you made the reservation through Hotels.com. And this company never... More

This hotel was certainly the best we had in Costa Rica. A little expensive but very worth it. Pros - THE VIEW. Panoramic epic view of sunset. Basically every location on the property has something to offer. There are 2 pools that you can hang out in while catching the view. LOCATION - you never need a taxi here you... More
