We stayed in the adult only area on the 4th floor. We had the most amazing ocean and jungle view. We saw tons of monkeys, lizards, iguanas, and even a cat and a raccoon! It was just a 10 minute downhill walk to the beachfront, but we had to call a taxi to make it back because it was so steep. It is also a rather steep, but short, walk from our room to the front office. They would provide a van drive to any of their 4 restaurants, and the wait staff would simply call when we were ready to leave, and the van would come back. Pretty neat service. Their restaurants were all good with amazing views (I'm almost ashamed to say, the pizza was my absolute fave.. SO GOOD!). The staff there was in masks all of the time, and masks were required when entering the front office and in the van. They offer pool towels, but ask that you don't take them to the beach. All in all, we loved this hotel and everything about our stay. We will be visiting again!

We stayed here 4 nights on a 9 night trip . The resort is spread out and very hilly, from Area E where our room was is quite a hike to lobby and exit of resort. They have 3 pools, 4 restaurants, a pastry shop. You are literally in the jungle, only roads and paths are passable. Staff was all very helpful and friendly. They will change you money to local currency, also have laundry service. Room was big with 2 queen beds, a kitchen, dining table, and a nice front porch with chairs to look out at the ocean. Apparently children are not allowed at this resort. Lots of restaurants are available from the resort all along the road to Manual Antonio park and the beach. It is walkable, but there are also frequent buses. An added bonus was a furniture making shop just outside the property that we visited (I'm a woodworker.)

If you are looking for a nice hotel with great views and lots of wildlife, this place is perfect! Although very spread out, the grounds are beautiful and wildlife is abundant. Lots of monkeys, birds, and sloths. We stayed in area B, a nice room with kitchen and full refrigerator. Had a gorgeous view, but the road noise was a bit disappointing. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was nice and cool. We loved the balcony with chairs and hammock. The pool area in B was great, very private and we had a sloth in the tree above us that hung out all week. We did walk around the grounds and use the adult pool, amazing view from it. There is no food or drink on-site (with the exception of the pool bar drinks) so make sure you bring anything you want. It was a bit of a challenge as we didn’t have a rental car. They do have two open restaurants, but have to take a shuttle up to them. No coffee, water, etc available unless you leave the property. We did eat at both restaurants and the food was excellent! It wouldn’t be an honest review worth mentioning the negatives. The biggest drawback of our stay was the staff. They were not friendly in the least bit and at times it felt as if you were bothering them with any needs or questions. When we checked out and turned in key, they just said “you are good”. No, “Thanks for coming” or “How was your stay”. The staff at the restaurant and the cleaning staff couldn’t have been nicer. Just very unfriendly front desk staff. Second drawback is that they don’t provide pool towels, you just had to exchange your bath towels for clean ones at the front desk. Felt as if we were back and forth exchanging towels multiple times as day at the front desk who seemed bothered by it. And it wasn’t a quick and easy walk. Lastly this is not a “beach” location. The beach is 1/2 mile down a busy road and a very steep walk back. It’s walkable, but not ideal. Would be easier to take the bus or cab. No nice shuttle rides to the beach.

We stayed 3 nights at Costa Verde and loved it. We were in the C building very close to one of the pools and steps away from the front desk. Based on other reviews, I expected to see a lot more wildlife, but we were able to see a few toucans, a few monkeys, and heard the howlers. The plant life is amazingly beautiful and there are so many fun "pockets" to the resort. We loved the adult pool that overlooks the ocean, as well as the family "C" pool surrounded by huge palm trees. The views are amazing. The staff was helpful, and carried our luggage to our room and gave us rides to restaurants, etc. We walked down to the beach the first day and drove the next (you can park for 3,000 colones) and it wasn't busy although the ocean was a little rough. There were monkeys, there, too! Our rooms included a fridge, microwave and sink/dishes/utensils which was very helpful as breakfast is not included. We utilized a local supermarket and had our own on our deck while we watched for animals. I would definitely stay here again. The only downside was that it took a long time for the rooms to get serviced due to lack of staff. One nice thing they offer is that you can continue to use their amenities on the day you check out, and they have bathrooms and showers available (and lockers for your suitcases) for when you're done and want to get ready to go. That is a service I have not seen at other hotels and we appreciated it a lot.

I've been to MA 5 times and have stayed at more upscale places but I keep coming back here. I'll tell you why. Monkeys and views. I'm sorry but no other place can compare on these. I have never had an issue with hospitality. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just got back and really enjoyed our third floor room in the B building. Wonderful view. AC was perfect. Beds comfortable. The rooms are huge! Has a full size fridge to store water and beer. Tons of monkeys. Toucans. Howlers in the trees. If you are a family this is the best place. We will be back.
