The hotel staff were kind enough to send a bus to pick us up from Cartago. The cost for 8 of us was very reasonable. It was a 4 hour trip across Costa Rica that went very smoothly. The resort is gated, and the staff seemed like they recognize all the guests, but I am uncertain whether that is part of their security. It did seem safe throughout the stay. A cold towel and ice cold passion fruit juice made check in really memorable. We were a little early so we waited for our rooms by playing miniature golf on the 10 hole course. That was memorable because of the monkeys eating mangoes off the trees overhead. They threw half eaten fruit at us for fun. We had three ground floor garden rooms in a row with balconies looking out over the tennis court. There was a small strip of lawn with large bushes between us and the courts that were somewhat lower down the hill so there was great privacy. Rooms were luxuriously appointed with queen beds, a table and chairs. Two of the rooms had a communicating door as we asked. Bathrooms had modern fixtures that worked well. We never heard any noise from other rooms. Wifi was fast and easy to connect to. It allowed video conferencing with the US with no problems. Out the balcony, I saw butterflies, a duck, an iguana and a flock of macaws in the tree just outside eating fruit. Butterflies were frequent all over the grounds as well. All buildings were short walks away from our room but there were short stretches where one can get drenched by rain. There were multiple ways to get between points in the resort throughout but always at least one way without steps. They have golf carts to deliver people and bags as necessary to rooms. Multistory buildings had elevators and wide spaces for disabled access. There is a self-service laundry but it is quit expensive per load. Tokens are sold at the gift shop. Prices otherwise in the gift shop were not much different than we saw in tourist-intended shops outside the resort. Our second morning there, the power went out in the area, apparently. They have their own large generator, and aside from the noise of the generator, we didn't notice the power outage. Staff were very friendly and were eager to please. Not all workers were fluent in English. We went on a staff led tour of the National Park and also of the grounds at night. Guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The night tour on the grounds was very interesting, and the guide recognized us the next night and came over to tell us when one of the resident sloths was especially close to view. The National Park is close by, and they run a shuttle to and from the shops outside the park a few times a day. Outside of shuttle runs, it is not easy to leave the compound and get back. The standard taxi fare was $20 round trip for our group. Walking is possible, but there are large vehicles, narrow roads and steep drop offs that make it hazardous. Because of the added expense of eating off property, we had most of our meals at the resort. The sushi was good, the regular restaurant was very good or excellent, and prices were what might expect going out in the US to good restaurants. Their prices were decidedly more than we had paid in restaurants in non-tourist areas in Costa Rica. Drinks were about double the prices outside the resort in the local area except at happy hour. However, those high prices for Costa Rica were about what one might expect in many places in the US. The included breakfast buffet had an enormous selection of food. There was a good selection of local fruits and cuisine at the breakfast along with many other items like freshly made and outstanding chocolate croissant. The breakfast was the equal of any we've had elsewhere. Pools were very nice. I did not see life guards but most people were watching their own families. Pool bar attendants were there and busy but also watching at the main pool. Other pools did not have life guards. The lap pool was about 12-15 yards but had steps to enter at one end shortening the useful length. There was also a quiet adults only pool. There is a beach nearby down the steep road and then down a steep trail. Monkeys and sloths are in the trees overhead. That trail was quite busy with people and vendors hauling food down to the beach. There is adjoining jungle to the resort with well marked but rough paths. Hiking shoes are useful. There were only a few mosquitoes, no other people on those paths when we went on our own and plenty of monkeys and birds in the trees. There were also views towards the beaches of the national park. The pandemic is still going on, and staff wore masks. Only a few of the guests wore masks. Costa Rica was hit hard by the pandemic, and talking with staff and other locals was illuminating about the impact and individual losses and hardships due to the pandemic. Generally, people we spoke with are happy that visitors are back from the US and elsewhere. Overall price was very reasonable and would have been higher in a US resort of the same caliber. This was an outstanding stay. I'd come again.

We enjoyed our stay at Parador. Amazing pools and amazing pools were the best part. Hotel lobby is so lovely and the ambiance is great. Pool was so nice and warm and loved the swim up bar and the food by the pool was some of our best food in Costa Rica. Service overall was great. We had 2 adjoining garden rooms which were nice and clean and comfortable but nothing spectacular. Would definitely recommend Parador. Hike to the beach is a little annoying but a beautiful beach and we took taxi to the main Manuel Antonio beach as well. Great time!

The hotel is quite nice w lovely pools and international guests . The staff is so kind more then other countries . The spa facials were amazing and so relaxing . I wish the breakfast had a few more options . Quite rainy but clears up around lunch time . I would not recommend staying here the morning of flying out of the San Jose airport for it’s a three hour drive !!

My two teens and I spent 4 nights at this resort in July. The hotel and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Every staff member helped to make us feel welcome and taken care of. They were so helpful whenever we needed anything. The location of the resort was beautiful as well with lovely views of the ocean. We walked to Playa Biesanz which took about 15 min, the paved part is a little steep and then there was a trail which was a little slippery in some areas which may be difficult for some people but again it was a beautiful walk, then we rented kayaks and swam. We took a shuttle to Manuel Antonio national park and took taxi’s any time we wanted to sightsee. On the property we saw a couple of sloths, macaws plus so many lizards and monkeys. There is plenty to see and do at the resort and nearby and several pools to lounge around when needing to rest. My kids and I made some wonderful memories on this trip and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

This is probably our family's favorite hotel in the entire world. Amazing breakfasts. Spectacular views. Gorgeous pools -- all of them.. Quiet, peaceful location just a few minutes away from Manuel Antonio. World-class service: you will feel like you're being pampered by friends. Shuttles to take you to nearby beaches. For couples, for families, for everybody: you will not want to leave. We sure didn't.

We stayed with 2 kids for four days and we loved it. The hotel is beautifully located and embedded in the tropical surroundings. The views are amazing, as are the pools, gardens and leisure areas. The entire staff was very friendly and always helpful. They have wildlife at the hotel! If that's not enough there are amazing beaches in walk distance of the hotel, out they provide shuttles. It's great.

We just came back from our stay at Parador. We had a wonderful stay! As soon as you arrive, they greet with a cool cloth and refreshing fruit drink (non-alcoholic). They upgraded us to "La Casita", which basically like a little house. It was huge! It was a 3 bedroom suite with a mini kitchen, dining area and wrap around deck with outdoor seating. Now I am forever spoiled and will compare all room to this one! The ground are beautiful and you can spot some animals on the property, including sloths. I would say that most of the staff is very friendly, perhaps one of the waitresses and pool bartender could be friendlier but I have to call out Sharon and the front desk staff, they are very accommodating! The fastest way to get in touch with the front desk is through What's App (preferred all over CR). Food at the resort is EXCELLENT! We enjoyed all our meals. Only minor suggestion is to add some healthy options like oatmeal or bran cereal to the breakfast buffet. Drinks are not really strong but what do you expect at a resort. There is a shuttle that will take you to the beach by the national park. We went at the beginning of August and the weather was all over the place, both sunny and rainy. The game room was closed when we went so there wasn't much to do after dinner but hopefully, they open it back up soon. Overall, had a really great stay and would love to return one day.

We travelled here with our family of four. Our kids are 12 and 9. We looked at other hotels and chose the Parador and we are so glad. The staff here are super friendly and attentive. The whole hotel was kept immaculately clean and well maintained. Food was great. Pools good. It was a good base to do activities from. It’s at the end of the road so no traffic. There is also enough on site to do like a nature trail, mini golf, tennis and gym. The gym is a bit old but good enough to do something. The beach near the hotel is pretty but a bit rocky so bring your beach shoes. Overall we’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Pura Vida!

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful, friendly staff! The pool is sublime …..terrific views, swim-up bar…. Everything you could ask for! Staff was so kind - showing us local wildlife, making suggestions for things to do in the area, etc. Alberto, our pool bartender, was exceptionally nice - we enjoyed conversing with him! Room was nicely appointed, with lovely, garden-view balcony. Two resident sloths and a gang of monkeys were fun to watch. Food in the restaurant was delicious! Would definitely recommend a stay at Parador!

Amazing views, saw lots of wildlife at the property. Loved the infinity pools. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great full breakfast was included in our rate. Lunch & dinner had good options as well. Close to Biesanz beach. This was our 2nd time at Manuel Antonio and we loved this resort better than the first one we stayed at. Free shuttle to The beach and to Manuel Antonio Park. Grounds are well kept. Pools have good shade areas, enough loungers & umbrellas. Water pressure in the shower was great. Definitely recommend this resort. Our teenagers also loved it. Special thanks to Adriana from client services for always being available and asking if we needed anything else. The guys at the main pool bar were also amazing. Staff at Galería restaurant and housekeeping were also super helpful. Can’t wait to go back! #PuraVida 🇨🇷
