We had a great weekend at Monkitail! Both rooms (203 & 303) were shiny clean, and have everything you need for your stay. The pool is very close to the bungalow - we saw 4 toucans and lots of macaws! They have an alcohol dispenser and a mat with disinfectant at the entrance. They would clean the rooms daily if needed. Raul was our concierge - he was very nice and made sure we have a pleasant stay. Thank you Raul for the chocolates on Mother's Day. We definitely recommend Monkitail!!!

My family and I have travelled to Tulemar on 7 separate occasions and are in love with Monkitail. It’s nestled near the southwest corner of the resort and has an amazing jungle garden and views of the ocean. It’s newly updated with a beautiful modern Balinese style and was perfect for our family if 4. Our concierge Raul was amazing and coordinated any activity or accommodations we needed. The housekeeping staff was amazing and kept us feeling pampered throughout our stay (up to and including folding our children’s blankets into fun flowers! They loved it). We were so impressed with all adoevts of our stay and we’re already planning a return trip. Thanks for making our stay so special!!

Monkitail was highly recommended by a friend and it lived up to it and more. From the moment our family stepped on the grounds of Tulemar, we knew we were in for a once in a lifetime experience. It is an exotic, cliff side, paradise, perched overlooking the perfect vantage point for Pacific Ocean sunsets.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by our concierge, Raul and his outstanding attention to details and needs was the best we have ever experienced. From coordinating transport, preparing Monkitail for arrival, briefing us about the amenities, scheduling activities, organizing deliveries, accommodating special requests, communicating constantly and at all hours. Raul greatly helped ease our uncertainties about the unfamiliar surroundings and language barrier. Outstanding!
Monkitail’s location on the grounds was key for us. There is one of the four shared pools located right next to Monkitail. This was incredibly convenient for our three young children. It’s also a short, 8 minute walk, down hill, to the private beach. You can also call for free shuttle service anywhere around the grounds, day and night. The drivers were super friendly. Nacho was one who stood out because his name was hard to forget, but they were all great. There is service down at the beach where you can get chairs, umbrellas, tables, food, drinks, kayaks and boogie boards. David was a joy to see daily on the beach! The on site restaurant was delicious and the staff were attentive and kind.
Inside Monkitail, we found everything we could possibly need to call this home for 8 days. Monkitail is well equipped with every modern amenity and is impeccably maintained by the daily cleaning staff. They even did dishes and laundry. Floor to ceiling glass gives views in all directions. Motorized window shades provide privacy when needed. Modern finishes throughout. Someone put a lot of thought into the design of this place. We hope to return soon. This was my first time to Costa Rica to celebrate my husband and I’s first wedding anniversary. My in-laws and husband have been to CR twice prior and have loved vacationing here, so we decided to make a family trip of it and rent a villa. Fabio, our concierge, was an amazing part of the trip as he made our whole trip to CR so special. He helped us plan our excursions and make up an amazing trip itinerary. Vanessa, our housekeeper, kept our villa, Casa Panorama, well maintained and always was great about getting it done while we were on excursions so we were able to come back in the afternoon and enjoy the beautiful, cleaned villa. The views from the upstairs kitchen, dining, and living rooms were amazing! We not only had a view of the ocean, but also a view of a beautiful Macaw’s nest and lush property that is well maintained. There are restaurants close by that can be delivered such as Victoria’s, which we enjoyed one night. There is a small onsite supermarket that has a majority of needs at a fair, comparable price or for a vast variety of items if you would like to utilize the villa’s kitchen, there is a supermarket that is about a 5-10 minute walk from the resort that has a fresh meat and fish counter plus all the necessities. Can’t forget to mention the shuttle service on the property, which was so nice when we didn’t want to walk the property. The private beach is beautiful and well maintained plus so much wildlife to include iguanas, geckos, monkeys, lots of birds, and many other beautiful indigenous wildlife. Can’t wait until we can enjoy another vacation here and will for sure personally request Fabio!!!

Costa Rica is the most magical, beautiful country I have ever seen or could imagine in my entire life and the 10 days I spent at Tulemar were among – if not THE best days of my entire life. I could go on forever about the property, villas, amenities, beach, activities, wildlife, food, jungle surroundings, people, culture ect… but above all else first, I need to share how absolutely amazing my concierge was from the moment I arrived - Freddy B. at Tulemar. I could never find the right words to adequately describe how incredible, helpful, joyful, thoughtful, funny…so many qualities that Freddy is & I am eternally grateful to have met Freddy, who I consider now a friend, and for my entire stay at Tulemar. I wanted to share some examples of what Freddy did because I know 10000000% that my trip would not have been as perfect and memorable as it was without him. You could always count on good morning messages / check ins to ensure you were having a good day, had what you needed, were where you needed to be ect…his energy and love of life was infectious; it makes him so happy when you are experiencing that happiness in Costa Rica He helped with my bags for room moves, if I needed to go purchase any products at the store, scheduling any last minute excursions or providing / looking into details…anything you asked, Freddy made it happen I was a solo traveler and he always made sure I was safe & accounted for [although, I want to note I never felt unsafe for 1 second of my entire trip] Every single day Freddy helped me order food / drinks, choose restaurants, make reservations, ect….on my last night, I even left my credit card at the restaurant El Avion [so fun!]; the next morning, he made calls & took me there to make sure I got my card back before I left to travel home Freddy always had me where I needed to be, when I needed to be there for any activity, transportation, restaurant reservation, taxi, ect…always in communication for quite literally anything! Whenever you messaged Freddy, you could count on a response immediately! He would always come to the rescue whether to…. Pick you up in a golf cart if the last few hills were too much, jam out to your favorite song in the golf cart, show you the best magic tricks (!!!!), tell jokes, practice / teach a little Spanish, surprise you with some fresh cut watermelon or brownie and more….
I’ll do a 2nd part to speak more to Tulemar the property and more experiences I had [all beyond amazing!!]. I hope I am able to go back to Costa Rica many times – sooner than later. I have never experienced such, peace, joy, pure happiness…. If you are able to get down to Costa Rica / Tulemar & meet or work with Freddy, you will be one of the lucky ones, as I was.

At Tulemar Resort, you can make your life as easy and relaxing as possilbe or engage in as many activiies as you want on and off the property. The views, staff and food are fabulous. The hilly terrain is a great way to get automatic exercise, unless it is too much. and then you call a shuttle that shows up in minutes to take you anywhere on the property. Fabio was our personal conceirge that dealt with any reservation, question or tip as we needed assistance. It was really hard to make our own arrangements when we got home---we wanted to call Fabio. Having great restaurants that you can walk to off the property or taxi to added to the richness of the stay.

Once again, we had an incredible experience at SolAngelo. The villa is exquisite and offer tons of space to feel relaxed and to enjoy the wildlife. The views are beyond spectacular from every single room in the villa. More importantly, the housekeeping staff was attentive to our needs throughout our stay at SolAngelo and housekeeping always impeccable. They did our laundry daily and neatly folded it before we came back. They would beautifully carved fruits for us to enjoy. Our stay was even more incredible thanks to our concierge Fabio. He went above and beyond to make sure the experience was the best and that our vacation went smoothly, always thinking one step ahead! Fabio was attentive to our needs, very responsive and brought pleasant surprises throughout the week. All the staff at Tulemar are very friendly and helpful! We really had the best vacation ever and cannot wait to be back!

My husband and I had the most amazing time at Monkitail last weekend. We had not traveled in a year and half due to Covid and this trip was exactly what we needed. Our villa was beautifully designed and incredibly romantic. We woke up every morning to the sound of birds and wildlife while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. The resort itself is also wonderful. We spent a lot of time at the beach enjoying drinks and the perfect weather. Our concierge Raul made sure we had everything we needed including fresh fruits in our room. He also helped us schedule our Covid test for our return to the states. The process was easy and seamless. We cannot wait to go back and are already planning our next visit. We will book fast as we’re sure the place will fill quickly as people start discovering this gem!

My friends and I stayed in Villa El Escondite for a week celebrating a friend’s birthday. We had an exceptional experience in Tulemar! The accommodations, service, views, wildlife, and customer service was top notch. This was my second time visiting beautiful Costa Rica and my first time staying in Tulemar. I am spoiled for life! Escondite is stunning. It was more than enough yet not too much space for 5 adults and one child. The staff kept the Villa clean and we barely saw them. They were like ninjas behind the scenes taking care of things. Everything was fantastic…however what did surprise me was how reasonably priced the delicious food is at Tula Cafe. We were able to order room service multiple times a day without being price gouged. We appreciated that. Please don’t change that! I will miss the animals, the views, the luxury, beach, and the fun. Brian Quarta was our concierge and he did an outstanding job taking care of all our needs. He’s a great communicator and is so much fun to talk to. He constantly surprised us with treats, and always made sure we knew he was available for us. He made our stay extra special! I can’t wait to visit Tulemar again. 10 out of 10!

We (me, my wife, 14 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter) just got back from a week at Tulemar and had an amazing time. We stayed in a luxurious villa, Mirazul, that was comfortable for our family of 4 but easily could have accommodated 8 people. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was great to have our own private pool. It's pretty hot and humid in Costa Rica so it was nice to have a place to quickly cool down anytime we wanted. The villa was great for entertaining with a full kitchen, dining room and common area on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean. We watched the sunset every day from up there. The house staff was top notch. They kept the house clean every day and also provide laundry service on a daily basis, which was nice. Our refrigerator broke down one day and they immediately brought a replacement and carried it up 3 flights of stairs to the top floor! Our concierge for the week was Brian and he was there for us 24/7, providing great restaurant recommendations, setting up transportation and answering any questions we had. Brian also setup all of our activities for the week. There is a ton to do in Costa Rica. We went jetskiing, horseback riding, did a waterfall tour with cliff jumping into the river, ziplining, snorkeling and ATV riding. Brian set us up with great companies to lead these tours which made it fun and safe for the whole family. We also had a private chef 2 nights (Julio) and it was fun to take advantage of the kitchen and entertainment area. One nice thing about the villa was it is positioned right near the exit of Tulemar. This made our lives easier because every time we wanted to go off of the resort, we could basically immediately walk onto the street without having to call a shuttle or walk up a serious hill. All in all we had a great week!

Mirazul with its tropical modern design and views are breathtaking! Mirazul is a 4 bedroom casa with a king bed and another Guest Suite with two queen beds located on the main floor, along with the entry lobby and the laundry. The second floor contains the Primary Suite with a king bed and a Guest Suite with two queen beds. The third floor hosts the living room, dining room and the kitchen along with a half bath… and thank you for the shout out to Brian and the entire Tulemar staff…. They will make you feel like royalty your entire trip….Thank you so much again for your review....we hope to have you back to Tulemar again soon!
