Very solid hotel with friendly folks, very nice clean rooms, brilliant views. We were happy with our choice to stay here. The sunset views and monkeys in the canopy (Capuchins) were everything we hoped for. It was also very quiet. The breakfast each a.m. was served by friendly staff. The reason we gave it 3 stars it that the common areas and aesthetics are a bit off. I'd say only about 1 in 3 outside path lights is working. There are also a lot of metal structures (rails, stairs etc.) with some rusting. The pool was a bit oily and had more than usual debris from the canopy above. If you're interested in having a cold drink, in a quiet resort, on a safe deck with a great view of the sunset, the place is great. We'd stay here again.

The best view of the Pacific Ocean from the hillside where the hotel is located. Very nice rooms, pool, breakfast, staff..... In the trees at the hotel we saw howler monkies, leguanas, colibri and many other birds. We stayed one week at Moana in the beginning of our 5 week vacation. And came back and stayed one more week in the end. Best recommendations.

We stayed for 6 nights in February and had a wonderful relaxing time. Jon and his team are very welcoming, the breakfasts made to order being a highlight that really set you up for each day, exploring all the local beaches and waterfalls. The views from our room and from the restaurant, where we also had dinner a couple of times, were spectacular.

Love how Moana is just outside the dusty mayhem of Santa Teresa/Mal Pais. The cabinas are lovely and well appointed and the pool is an oasis during the heat of the day. The views from the restaurant are superior. We loved that they had mini fridges in the rooms to keep some drinks and fruit cold.

My husband and I stayed in early December and the place was amazing. Jon is the best host we have ever had and the views and accommodations make this the perfect getaway. Not to mention the amazing breakfast and coffee each morning! We will definitely be back.
