You are in good clean rooms located in the middle of the jungle - quite literally! It is 2 km to the 'main' coast road and another 1.5 km to an excellent seafront restaurant tor evening meals. You are surrounded by nature of all kinds in wonderfully landscaped and planted jungle woodland and shrubbery where there is an excellent immaculately... More

It's been several years since I was at Star Mountain but it remains a memorable trip. We travel extensively and always seek out areas of the world that provide a natural environment coupled with a cultural aspect. We thoroughly enjoyed the lodge, pool, jungle walks with spectacular views not to mention home cooked meals, horse back riding, zip lining, the... More

It was very hot and humid when we stayed at the Star Mountain Jungle Lodge. The ceiling fan in the room was ineffective in moving the air. We did have a floor fan, but the room was very hot. There was no ice and no glasses in the room. The grounds are lovely and the pool is nice. The location... More

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Owners were extrememly friendly and helpful but unfortunately they need to spend some money on rooms. No A/C meant and extremely hot night with just a fan to move the hot air around. The bed was clean but in our room there were quite a few bugs, and in the bathroom there was... More

This is one of the place we enjoyed the most of our 2 trips in Costa Rica. The Star mountain lodge is located in a accessible and very well maintained jungle spot, with all the animals you'd like to see around, but is also at a short driving distance from mal Pais and St Teresa and all activities in these... I have stayed in Santa Teresa several times. I wanted something different so I stayed at Star Mountain in Mal Pais. I loved that it was out of the town area (about 15 minutes or so). Star Mountain is the place to go if you want to feel like you are part of a family instead of just a guest... More

We recently visited beautiful Star Mountain and took the horse tour. The scenery was stunning, the horses were gentle and our tour guide, Oswaldo, was very helpful, patient and super nice. Thank you Oswaldo! You made our trip amazing.

If you want to get "off the map" and experience a beautiful jungle setting this is the place for you! Literally on the middle of the jungle but a close 15 minute drive to amazing restaurants for a sunset meal on the beach. We saw monkeys, dear, anteater-like mammals, red squirrels and more during our stay. The pool is the... More

If you want to get off the map and just relax this is the perfect place. It lies in the middle of the jungle and the views are breathtaking. I went during the rainy season, it rained mostly at night which was extremely peaceful. It is also easy to access the town of Santa Teresa which has amazing food.

I went to Costa Rica with my wife and 2 boys. We stayed at Star Mountain Jungle Lodge and it was amazing. The views there are breathtaking and my whole family loved it. Eating breakfast in the open lodge was one of my favorites thing to do. We can't wait to go back!
