We had a short but sweet 1 night stay. Friendly staff, friendly dogs and cats...especially a juvenile cat named Romeo whom my daughter absolutely adored. Even if DoceLunas didn't have delicious food, a spacious, clean, comfortable room with ice-cold AC, friendly and helpful staff, free bicycles to borrow, or the beautifully landscaped grounds and resident capuchin monkeys....even if it didn't have all of that, it would have been worth it to stay there just to pet Romeo the cat.

Our family spent a week at a Doce Lunas and loved it. The place is really beautiful, gorgeous tropical flower plants, bushes and palm trees. Birds singing, like a tropical paradise. The pool is superb, very artistic design, quite large and with a waterfall in one end with rocks and plants & a cave. There us also a spa. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and with all the comfort. The AC works strong and you can control. There is a mini fridge in the room and a coffee machine that also makes expresso. The property is spotless. Housekeeping is professional and friendly All the staff we found were most friendly, spoke English well and were ready to help in any way to make our stay special. Location is excellent as it is close to beach and lots of town attractions. We enjoyed breakfast several days and it was fresh and delicious. We also had a very good dinner one day, most flavorful. The restaurant is also very nice at night and one day they had a local band playing live music that was excellent. Wifi is strong through out the property ( our 2 teenagers did not complain once😊!) Doce Lunas is a jewel and we are certainly planning to return in the future!

In Nov 21 my daughter and her fiance had a small (9 people total) wedding at DoceLunas. The 9 of us spent a full week here and absolutely loved it. The wedding prep, ceremony and reception were absolutely perfect and Carmen (the coordinator) was fantastic. She made the entire process very simple and was very service oriented not only before but during the stay. She worked with us to arrange everything including transportation and all of the excursions we wanted to do after the wedding. The location of this resort is within a 15 minute walk of town but there are also bikes available for use (free). We loved the secluded feeling of the resort and the fact that it was much smaller or more local feeling than the big chain resorts. The staff are all very nice and accommodating. We also enjoyed the food. The only downside in my opinion was not having food service available in the evenings except on weekends but that was not a problem for us. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Docelunas in the future and would highly recommend for someone looking for a beautiful wedding venue. We had a fantastic time.

The grounds of this place are amazing. impeccably kept and gorgeous. The pool is lovely. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It is peaceful (most of the time) and you won't find a better night's sleep anywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. the breakfast is nice - although it could use a little more variety (i was there for 2 weeks). Couple of things that took me by surprise: the restaurant closes at 3pm most days. It's only open for dinner on the weekend (or when it is fully booked i guess). It's a bit of a walk (or bike ride) to town - so if you're not driving, be prepared for a 30 min walk (or a taxi of course). There is a little soda (roadside restaurant) just down the street before the main road - they make amazing food and drinks and it's only a 5 min walk. Doesn't look like much - but try it. The weekends are pretty nuts. The pool is slammed with people (they allow day visitors on the weekend for a fee) and a lot of little kids. It's a kids paradise, really - so I guess that makes sense. But for someone there to chill and relax, avoid the weekends! My favourite spot (and i never saw anyone there) is at the top of the little hiking trail behind the yoga studio. It's a bit of a goat path - but at the top (only like 2 minute climb) is a bench. From there, you will see the most amazing sunsets over Jaco. So peaceful and lovely. If you go to the resort - make sure to check it out for sunset. Overall i was very happy with the place - just wish i would have known about the limited (i.e., no) food and drink options after 3 most days. On the bright side - there is a fridge in every room and a convenience store just outside the gates.

My husband and I found Doce Lunas online and through a virtual tour of the property booked it as our wedding destination. We could not have asked for anything more perfect. Every single member of the staff was incredible and treated us as if they were taking care of their own family. It was the most stress-free and enjoyable wedding we could have asked for. The event coordinators really highlighted the beauty of the property and then also helped organize activities for the rest of the week. I cannot say enough about Doce Lunas, it is the perfect intimate venue.

The staff here are so kind and helpful. Our flight was delayed by a day and the hotel moved our booking. The night we did arrive it was late and we were exhausted after multiple airport delays. However when we got here the security guard knew our name and welcomed us. Isabel at the front desk ordered a takeaway meal for us and charged it to our room as we had no cash, these small acts of kindness really speak to the wonderful nature of the staff. We stayed in Room 17 is lovely spacious and with character. The pool is lovely with a small sitting nook under the waterfalls where your worries and stress just flow away. The wifi is easily accessible and fast. The breakfast, we order the typical option was really tasty ( eggs - scrambled/ fried, rice and beans with some lovely spices, fried plantation- the best I have ever tried, two corn tortillas- my husband loved them and fresh pineapple, watermelon and papaya). Everything is clean, tidy and safe. We both wish we were staying here longer. This is a fantastic hidden haven and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to stay here. We will definitely return and stay longer.

I can’t say enough great things about our stay here !!! The rooms were clean, beds comfy, and the blankets were great quality. The hotel itself is like a little jungle oasis. The location is a few minutes from downtown, the cab there is $3 and they come quickly and easily. It’s a perfect distance where you don’t have to deal with the cons of the city but enjoy all the benefits. The best part of our stay here was the staff though. The manager angel and Isabella go above and beyond!!! They made sure we got to do every single we wanted. They planned every single moment of our vacation. From tour recommendations to dinner recommendations everything was perfect. Thank you so much!!! We will be back!

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Every staff member I came into contact exceeded expectations in handling our requests. The place is situated in the jungle and the wildlife is abundant. We saw monkeys, toucans, and birds. The property has a number of great features including native trees and beautiful flowering plants. It's easy to relax away from the main drag of Jaco but close enough for quick trips to the beach and shops.
