Spent the week at Villa Caletas for a wedding. If you're looking for a beautiful resort with great food, drinks and service- this is your spot. The employees were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. One of the employees, Adrian, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We can't thank him enough for how kind and helpful he was. He was great. I highly recommend this resort and definitely plan on returning in the future.

You sense when you start the five-minute or so climb in your vehicle from the main road to the reception area that this is a special place and indeed it is! There are only forty-two rooms (not including the owner's residence which is on premise) spread over what seems like never-ending property. Every staff member is friendlier and more helpful than the next. The views (and ABUNDANT local wildlife) are breathtaking, the food is outstanding and you have access to their private beach with food and drink service. When you leave, you will already be planning your return!

This hotel was AMAZING! I have never, in my life, stayed at anything remotely as beautiful as this place. I was in room 10 and it overlooked Nicoya Gulf (?) from hundreds of feet up and it was breathtaking. I know there were other rooms nearby but I felt so secluded, like I was a princess in a medieval castle (with all the modern amenities! lol) Everyone was kind, patient, and spoke English but nobody seemed to mind when I tried out my pretty basic Spanish skills. The infinity pool was beautiful, the gym was amazing, really, I don't have enough words to describe how phenomenal this place was. Why is it a once in a lifetime for me? It's expensive! I used part of my inheritance from my Dad's passing to stay there but it was worth every cent. Things I like to know when travelling: 1. The hotel recommends drinking bottled water; not tap water 2. There is no fridge or microwave in the room 3. Do NOT take your food back to your room unless it has a fridge. I took half a sandwich back and within 2 hours it was covered in ants (shrugs... rainforest life...) 4. The internet is good and I was able to watch Netflix at night with no problem 5. I felt safe the entire time I was there 6. Be aware of the "security fee". It gets reimbursed but seeing the $400 charge was a bit of a shock. 7. Breakfast is included

Visiting Costa Rica for the first time earlier this month and my daughter and had the pleasure to stay here for 3 nights. I have never experienced any place like this in my life - Hotel Villa Caletas is a dream - I felt like I would be awakened at any time back to reality. Denis Roy, owner/creator of Villa Caletas is deserving of the highest acclaim for his vision and hard work setting out to create Hotel Villa Caletas. It is hard to comprehend the effort and hard work that was expended to build the hotel and you can even appreciate the smallest of details on the grounds, for example, beautiful inlaid mosaic tiles along all of the pathways and utterly amazing and exotic flora and fauna. The setting, grounds, views are truly beyond description. Our room had it's own terrace and amazing view of the Pacific. We saw squirrel monkeys and colorful scarlet macaws - as well as many other amazing sites and sounds - toucans each morning was a wonderful way to awaken. The staff are very kind and courteous. We enjoyed wonderful dinner with a superb view each evening in the on site restaurant as well as poolside breakfast one morning, which was quite wonderful. I would highly recommend the Hotel Villa Caletas to anyone visiting the area and I cannot wait to return!

A tour guide recommended this place for a sunset dinner. It did not disappoint. Food, service and view were awesome. There is also a nice bar with views plus a really cool amphitheater. So you can just have a drink and enjoy the view.
