This stay was our best experience of a 14 days’ trip to beautiful, scenic Costa Rica. Only stayed 1 night on the way from Turrialba to Manuel Antonio, but would certainly want to come back. Good driving directions were given by friendly host, Erica, so easy to find, only few minutes away from main road to Jaco. Still, very private, calm and quiet location. Well maintained property. Large, comfortable and nicely furnished rooms. Really feels like a private home. All visitors are welcome to use kitchen, refrigerator and freezer. Small, continental breakfast incl. Lovely pool and poolside area and a large, green, tropical garden. Gate port is guarded, so felt very safe and private. Few minutes drive to shopping mall and Herradura beach. This Italian style house and garden is really a home away from home. Thank you, Erica and staff.

Erica, the hostess, is the highlight of Forest Hills. She is friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. The grounds are beautiful. However, the breakfasts were skimpy - coffee, juice and fruit. We used the communal kitchen to make drinks, but the blender was missing the lid - consistent with the kitchen generally. The shower head needs to be replaced. The facility suffers from deferred maintenance. The cleaning service was minimal. Overall a friendly staff and an ideal location for the area.

We stayed at this hotel in April. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the room and the grounds are amazing. The breakfast was fine but it is only fruit, coffee, juice and some toast. It is a wonderful property.

We drove from the airport to this location on a Sunday afternoon ( beware the main road between Jaco and San Jose is one-way only on Sundays, so that beachgoers can return to the city using 2 lanes). Forest Hills Suites is a fantastic, relaxing resort. Although it is set back in a neighborhood of typical Costa Rican homes, it's unlike anything in the area. It is safe and secure, and constantly under watch by a security guard. Breakfast is simple, but satisfying. The hosts, Erika and Sheyla, are warm and engaging. It's a perfect location for getting used to the laid back Costa Rican lifestyle. We only stayed one night, and yet the place has enough charm to sustain a longer term. We had a car, but we met another couple who didn't have their own transportation and walked to local restaurants. There's a large refrigerator in the kitchen which you can use. We bought some beer and kept it cold. We would definitely return here if our travels take us to this area again.

Stayed at the B and B styled home that was rich in art, solitude, and seclusion ( only 5 rooms available) No elevator to the only 2nd floor suite, but as we entered the doorway, it was no concern. Loved the room that had no less than 13 paintings on the walls of the bedroom as well as the bath, of local artists. Brick domed ceiling that was so cool, and a balcony that looked over the grounds and in ground pool. Breakfast every morning. Staff was delightful and helpful in every way. Would. Make a great family retreat destination!
