The welcome was warm when we dived and the staff continued to be great. Thank you, Michael Schnitzler for your vision in making the park and lodge happen. The food was excellent and always made with interesting local ingredients (and no gluten), the hikes are good and

The lodge is in a seemingly idyllic location surrounded by rainforest and in its own garden that blends so well with the wild surroundings. The lodge offers guided walks and we went for a night-time walk around the gardens. Our guide Andrey was very well informed and found so

Dear Andy, Thanks so much for your friendly and positive report. I am glad you were able to enjoy your 2 days at Esquinas and appreciated the location, the staff and the food. Esquinas is a special place, of the sort that is getting harder and harder to find in Costa Rica. Good luck and come again! Michael Schnitzler, owner

Hello Anthony, you can look at the facilities and our menu on our website. A visit to Esquinas is a genuine nature experience. Don't expect high life, music or dancing. We find that observing the nature and the animals and listening to the sounds of the rainforest offer enough entertainment. As an ecolodge in the middle of the jungle, we offer day and night hikes, horseback tours and boat tours in the area. We have one bar that is open from 5.30 to 10.00, and an honour system fridge from which you can serve yourself.

There is power in the lodges, although these are very basic. Best to contact the manager regarding how to get there. Marilyn
