We stayed at Tortuga Lodge at the beginning of August during the rainy season. This didn't diminish the experience in any way. We are a family with two boys, aged 8 and 5. We stayed for three nights although as we flew in first thing from San Jose we effectively had three full days. We went on a number of... More

I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Costa Rica as much as you enjoyed your stay with us. Willis, Priscilla and Noily will be thrilled to see that you mentioned them... More

Friendly, helpful, knowledgable staff. Wonderful tours. Stayed for four nights and would have liked to stay for 1-2 additional nights. Great food. I strongly recommend the option to pre-purchase all of your meals. We enjoyed this option as we could try different food without worrying about additional cost. NB. Alcohol is not included. Room tips: Keep in mind there is... More

Just finishing our 2 night stay here. The staff are amazing. So service oriented. They anticipated our needs before we even had a need. Our room is spacious and clean. It is very wet here and no air conditioning but we are so glad to have comfortable beds, a solid roof, reliable electricity and wifi and a hot shower/flush toilet.... More

We were in two minds about going to Tortuguero as had already seen turtles laying in Borneo, but i'm so glad we did. The driving instructions the lodge provided were superb and our whole stay was excellent- lovely room, good food and well guided trips. We only stayed 2 nights but one more would have been perfect.

Dear sally i, Thank you for letting us know that the driving instructions were helpful. The drive can be a bit tricky since you are in banana plantations much of the time and everything looks the same. Our drivers are masters at letting us know how to describe each cross roads, so that you will get to La Pavona without... More

We loved our stay at Tortuga Lodge, it was surrounded by nature. We could hear howler monkeys from our room, enjoyed the resident iguanas on the property as well as the many birds and seeing multiple poison dart frogs on the trails. Beautiful setting, lovely river side pool with visiting iguanas and friendly and efficient staff. The room was smaller than we imagined for a family of 4 but still v comfy and it was great to wake up at dawn and sway in a hammock overlooking the river on the balcony. Tortuga Lodge & Gardens was an amazing place to stay. The Lodge is right across from the airstrip and they zip over in a boat to pick you up. (No roads/cars in this area) It was easy to take a boat into town but I was really glad I didn't stay there. Tortuga was beautiful without being "over the top"... More

Tortuga was the first place we visited when we arrived at Costa Rica. We stayed at Tortuga for two wonderful days. The place is amazing.
