We spent two nights in the beach house and three nights in the tree house. Both are unique and very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. We spent time walking the beach, looking for animals, and relaxing. We had a great time!

We have been to Costa Rica 7 times the this was by far one of our absolute favorite places. We stayed in the Beach House for over a week and our vacation could not be more perfect. There is abuntant wildlife on the grounds, the walk to the beach is about a minute from the house and the staff is amazing. The house was cleaned every day and it is only a short walk to some restaurants or you can bike or drive to those farther. The beach is rocky with some pools to swim in. If you prefer waves, Punta Uva Beach is just a short walk away or you can go to one of many other close beaches. This was like a second honeymoon for my husband and me. The peace, tranquility, and beauty allowed us to reconnect as a couple. I would highly recommend this place and any one of its houses for an absolutely perfect vacation.

dear Guest: we are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay so much. The house you describe is build far out in a corner of our 10 acre ocean front property at only 50 meters from the sea. The unique thing of this house is not just the architecture, but also its location. your privacy here is absolutely amazing at the Beach House. we are very happy to read you experienced the same thing. we look forward to welcome you on your 8th trip to Costa Rica again. many regards from the Tree House team.

We stayed for three nights in the garden house property. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and shown to our place by a young and very friendly young male staff member. He showed us around everything and also gave advice on the local area and amenities. He also offered us the use of the hot tub and he quickly got our hot tub running and a fire lit to heat it up ready for a couple of hours later. The garden house was really cool, quirky and well designed. It was open aired and without air conditioning but had been very carefully sealed with netting in the eves etc to provide a (generally) bug free environment. There was two double rooms upstairs with good quality mosquito nets and plug in fans, a nice lounge area downstairs and a practical kitchenette area with a fridge, hob and everything else you would need. The outside bathroom was pretty cool but the shower although nice and warm was very weak. The hot tub was great but as mentioned requires preplanning. All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful and the fact they do one basket of washing for free is a really nice touch. They also gave us a complimentary bottle of red wine which was waiting on our table outside - this was a lovely touch. The major downside of this place was the noise from traffic. The garden house is right next to the main road and we both had awful sleep every night and spent our whole time in Puerto Viejo tired and unrested because of this. Every night I would be woken several times per hour by loud motor bikes and cars and this was despite using ear plugs. It was all the more frustrating as when there were no cars you could hear the beautiful and calming sounds of the jungle and waves from the beach which would have been perfect to fall asleep to. The grounds were stunning and well kept and it was a short walk to the beach which was again beautiful and very quiet. For swimming and bathing though go elsewhere due to the coral beach. All together a lovely and welcoming place and this would have been our tropical paradise if it hadn’t been for the noise problems and chronic lack of sleep. I would imagine the other properties on the complex were all equally nice if not nicer and have the benefit of being away from the road so I would recommend to consider them first.

dear customer: we appreciate your honest response. the hot tub we offer at all houses, except the Bus House. important is to coordinate with the reception you want it on for the night. we always ask our guest to let us ( reception) know before 2 pm. the reason is because it takes a while to fill and heat the water. the water is heated with a wood fire. if you let us know in time, we assure you wont have to taka care of anything. we are very happy to do all the work and let you just enjoy the Hot Tub. about the road, indeed we have some problems with this house on busy days. you stayed over New year with us, which explains why there is so many cars. but even on the weekends, sometimes the sounds of cars can causes for some unwelcome noise. if this happens, please let us know, and if we have place available in one of the other houses, we are happy to move you to an other house. The Garden House is the only house close to the road. At all others the only thing you hear is the ocean. all houses are build within 200 meters from the ocean. at the tree house we have 300 meters private beach front!! we hope to see you at our tropical paradise soon again. Thanks, Edsart Besier

Our family of 5 stayed for four nights at the Tree House Lodge. We decided to try a few of the houses so we had the opportunity to stay for a night in the Beach House Suite, a night in the Tree House and two nights in the Crystal House. Each house was unique and amazing. We especially loved the size of the Beach House Suite and it's closeness to the beach. It had an amazing 'upper terrace' area where we played cards at night and had coffee and breakfast in the morning. Perfect :) The Tree House was open and enchanting with it's suspension bridges. The Crystal House was open and fun with the mini golf. We sat in the open area looking up at howler monkeys swinging from tree to tree above us. The BEST feature of this stay was the courtesy, kindness and helpfulness of the staff, specifically Mauro and Maribel. They helped us with any questions or requests we had and were always smiling and a pleasure to see. The Tree House Lodge has an amazing (secluded) beach. Picturesque. And a short walk to Punta Uva Beach for kayaking. The Jaguar Rescue Foundation is a short drive away and well worth visiting. We experienced a private tour and highly recommend this excursion. We are grateful for the opportunity to experience this wonderful eco lodge, the people and the surrounding community.

Please visit the Tree House Lodge if you are thinking about it and have the opportunity to do so. You'll be hard pressed to find a friendlier and more accommodating staff and owner and an experience as unique as this one. We stayed in the Tree House, which I recommend for nature lovers. The jacuzzi is incredible - they will light it for you and it will be ready at the time of your choosing. The lodge is a short walk to a beautiful beach, which is fantastic for swimming (watch for the coral but it's easy to avoid). You can walk the length of the beach and hike up to a viewpoint over the coast. (I also recommend taking the sea kayaking trip which the staff can set up for you - it's right down the beach and includes a short hike to the viewpoint, a paddle through crystal clear water and a jaunt down the river where the guide will point out sloths, everywhere). We recommend grabbing groceries at El Duende Gourmet, a short walk from the treehouse, and pizza at Pizzeria Pulcinella, also a short walk away. (Best pizza and appetizers we've ever had). Puerto Viejo is an 8 minute cab ride or so, and is a lot of fun to explore. It's picturesque, the locals are friendly, and there is some good food / music on the beach. Don't miss out on the Jaguar Rescue Center nearby either! If you stay at the tree house, be prepared to hear and see Toucans, howler monkeys, agoutis, and brilliant orange and blue crabs everywhere you look~ and to enjoy open air showers beneath the beautiful rainforest canopy. It was a truly special experience, made better by the great staff (thanks Mauro & Maribel!). We will never forget it.
