Stayed for 2 nights and was somewhat disappointed. The setting was beautiful but the couple who welcomed us could have provided better service. They were friendly enough and provided some information when we first checked in but when there was a storm on the first night there was no offer of candles or any water to flush the toilet etc...

We stayed her for 4 nights in one of the cabins (the Dolphin one). The owners were incredibly nice and very welcoming. We arrived early so our cabin was not yet ready and the owner made us some coffee and a tropical smoothie while we waiting completely free of charge. They were very helpful in giving us advice and information...

We rented the big house and this place although rustic, it was perfect for our family. Walking distance to some beaches - we were able to relax in the porch while watching monkeys and toucans right in front of our place. The kitchen was basic but we didn't need much. Also there's a grocery store walking distance that is really...

Our stay at Mar Y Luz couldn't have been better. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our bungalow was very clean and comfortable. Just a short walk away is the beach and it stretches far in both directions. We had the beach all to ourselves most of the time. The town of Puerto Viejo is a 10 minute drive...

Cute, fairly well equipped but rustic little casita. The kitchenette had all the necessities to cook meals, just store ALL your food in the fridge as to deter the little ants that you often have in CR. The beds are ok, not comfy but not terrible. I guess I should have mentioned this to the owner but we didn't use...

This place was just off the main road and within walking distance to one of the best beaches in the area, Playa Chiquita. The units are clean and had everything required. Henri the property manager was great in making sure your stay was ok and that if you needed anything he would provide assistance. You could hear the howler monkeys...

We were there with some friends for the weekend. The way to the center is quiet far but a taxi isnt too expensive. Everything was clean and nice. You can hire a bike and go to different places around puerto viejo. The personal was very friendly and serve very nice coffee. I would highly recommend it.

This was a really relaxing and quiet place to stay, outside the main hub of Puerto Viejo. Playa Chiquita is only a few minutes walk away and the French owners are helpful and approachable. The cabins themselves are clean and well-equipped with a small kitchenette, bathroom and mosquito nets for the beds. Puerto Viejo is about a 10 minute car...

A few cabinas in nature. The french owners were very nice and gave recommendations. The rooms were clean and well equipped and we just love to hear howler monkeys, birds and what not during the night. From our front porch we saw Tucans, parrots, monkeys, etc. Free wifi, coffee and tea were available. Some bad things: - during the first...

Henri is an amazing host, he is so kind and helps you with anything that you need. The rooms are close together so you can hear your neighbors, but it is in a quiet location where you can here a lot of the jungle creatures. The place is a car ride to Puerto Viejo Center about 8 minutes, but you...
