I wanted to share my experience at Samasati Resort with the travel and yoga community from my perspective. I booked a one week stay at Samasati Resort from February 16 to February 22, 2019. My intention for visiting Samasati Resort was stress reduction. I am an Indo-Canadian

Stunning experience to connect with nature, the rainforest and myself. The staff make you fell welcomed all the time and the food is great. The perfect place to disconnect from what does not matter and reconnect with what matter.

Nice cabin, loved the food, fresh vegan and vegetarian cuisine, the hikes through the primary forest, the climate and temperature, and especially the jacuzzi! The facilities were great and the staff very helpful. Not very good for wifi.

Hi there - Thanks for the nice things you said about our retreat and staff! We are sorry you did not get the value you were expecting for the package. We will review that and address it. We will also contact you separately to correct this situation. I will also speak with the staff as to why you were not put in a more secluded Casita as you are travelling as a couple. Which is what we do. I agree that the additional payment to come up the hill on a late arrival can be an unwelcome surprise. We should have told you about it during your booking and also advised you on options on how to stay overnight in San Jose and have a more relaxed journey. Will follow up on this w our booking staff. We run a streamlined operation to keep our rates as low as possible so we have to pay a professional driver whenever we have a late check in to wait for our guests to arrive late. Most of our guests are asleep by 10 or 11pm as they are looking to relax. It is unfortunate that the ladies were hanging out in the hot tub so late. We do not like to dictate to our guests when they should vacate the hot tub but we can certainly address the amount of noise they make after 11pm. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Dear Kajal V, We are located on the south Caribbean coast of Costa Rica and therefore enjoy a very different climate compared to the rest of the country. As a matter of fact, Samasati, which sits on a mountain perch overlooking the sea, has it's own microclimate. Year round we get rain showers overnight, early morning or late afternoon. These showers do not last long and on the mountain we enjoy slightly cooler temperatures than directly on the beach. Nonetheless, we do get slightly more rain in July and December. The second week of June should be excellent with warm water in the Caribbean as well. We recommend a stay at the new luxury villas at Banana Azul as the perfect compliment to our rainforest sanctuary experience. They are directly on the water and a little closer to the town of Puerto Viejo. Thanks!

Can I purchase sunblock at ur resort? I forgot mine. I prefer spf 15. Thanks
Dear Sandra R, At this very moment the gift shop is out of sunblock, however, sunblock is available for purchase at the grocery stores and markets in town near the beach. Our gift shop does carry other lotions, oils, scrubs, etc that are locally made and organic. Thanks

Hello sabrinagatliff, To fly into Costa Rica you'll fly into SJO airport (Juan Santamaria Airport) which is located in San Jose. From there it is a 4hour drive to Samasati (options include public shuttle bus or private car). Additionally, flights are available to reach the Caribbean coast in just 30 minutes. We recommend a domestic flight on Sansa airlines which take you to Limon airport, a short 30 - 40 minute drive from Samasati. We hope that info helps! If you book at stay at Samasati our reservations department can assist you with booking airport transfers. Thanks

Hello Sandra R, The rooms do not have alarm clocks or hair dryers, you would have to bring your own, no power plug adapter needed. You're welcome to use a cell phone alarm or listen for the morning howler monkey call ;)

Hello Sandra R, Thank you for reaching out with your important question. We draw water from natural sources and rain catchment on the mountain and then filter it through a state of the art multi step filtration system. This water is then provided at water stations for guests. You can fill up your reusable container as much as you'd like. However, if there is not enough rainwater to filter, we use purchased water to fill our water stations. Water stations are open round the clock in the restaurant and in yoga studios. We hope that answers your question and feel free to reach out if you need more assistance! thank you
