We had a great stay at Samasati. The staff was very very attentive and helpful. Honestly some times even a little too much (yall can give guests some more breathing room ) but it's all good. The location was remote and gorgeous. The rooms were clean and nice, very jungle vibe. The only 'con' is you have to plan all your rides up and down the hill to go and explore puerto viejo. The food was outstanding, so good! It was very quiet, peaceful. You can walk around the property as well and go on mini hikes. We were treated very kindly and had a great time. Thank you Samasati & staff <3
My mom and I took a yoga trip to Costa Rica in February and stayed at Samasati. We had such a great experience! It is quiet with a great view, great food, and great service. Everyone was so nice and helpful and very accommodating with getting us to and from various locations in the area. There is a very long gravel path that leads you to the top where the actual retreat center is so be prepared for that, but otherwise it was such a beautiful getaway. You are quite literally tucked away in the jungle of Costa Rica! One of a kind experience!
amazing and beautiful- very clean - food was amazing!!! i loved the Rainforest Song- deep spiritual connections to nature- long beautiful walks. The villa was really beautiful- the view to ocean amazing... pool and spa gorgeous- the pictures do not do this place justice-
The dealings with this centre were very complicated and convoluted and many mistakes were made that coloured our stay in a negative light. They made some effort to compensate the parties affected but it required a tremendous amount of stress and effort. The rooms: The newer casitas are simple, large, clean and mostly as pictured. The older casitas need some tlc: a new coat of paint, holes in the window netting, and a serious update. The rooms in the guesthouse are small but fine. In all rooms it feels like a step up from camping in the jungle. The best part was the staff. They were very sweet, helpful, attentive.. I could go on, they were really wonderful. The food was also really well done. Fresh and abundant, some regular staples but also enough variety to make meals interesting. Wifi is terrible which could be a blessing in disguise unless you do have to do some work during your holiday. All in all this centre is priced too high for what you get including massage and laundry services. after staying in several different places during our visit to this area we found Samasati to be overpriced for what is offered.…
The location of Samasati is tucked away in the rainforest where you are close to a town (if you wish to leave- I didn't), but also far enough away where you can immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature. The food was fresh, healthy and presented beautifully. I made a Mala with Ursula that is truly my own, and will treasure the experience and guidance she gave me. The local flora and fauna was more than enough entertainment for a week and when the rains came, I could lay in my hammock and read a book or just look out and enjoy the serenity of the rain coming down in the jungle around me. Everyone that works there is kind, and immediately receptive; just a beautiful group of people all together. It was the most amazing experience.
