I don’t know about other hotels in Cahuita but this must be among the top two! We initially booked for 2 nights and text to say we would be late. A quick response from them asked if I meant the following night. I’d booked the wrong two nights. Their next response said no worries they’d got a room for tonight so we could stay. After a long dark quite scary journey we arrived. Opening a dark brown gate in a high wooden wall we entered the most wonderful garden. Lodges/bungalows/bedrooms huddled behind lush Costa Rican trees and shrubs. The welcome was warm and. efficient with just the right amount of information for our tired brains. We loved the honesty bar, free tea and coffee, the availability of cake, the two pools, the happy hour cocktails, the lazy parrot, the birds, even two tiny green and black frogs. My least favourite animal. We loved it so much that after checking out Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo where we’d intended to move on to, we asked if we could stay three more nights. They checked. We crossed our fingers. They said yes. We stayed in two of their 10? rooms and both were excellent. I could go on and on about this little bit of paradise. It’s not flash and glitzy it’s an honest beautiful place. Thanks to Eden and Anne for their warmth and efficiency behind the desk and at breakfast. Lovely people. …
I am so happy I found El Encanto in Cahuita. The staff is great, the place is precious, breakfast great, it's safe, small beach right in front, big beach short walk away, town, restaurant, bars, steps away. I loved it. Cahuita is beautiful.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was enjoyable... Positives: Room was clean and good size Air con was good Grounds were lovely Friendly staff There was a filtered water machine for drinking water Negatives: WIFI didn't really work in the rooms No TV in room if you are after this!? No fridge Breakfast was a bit messy. You sit at the table with your room number on it. However, on the first morning our table was not ready and had to wait 10mins. The second morning somebody else was sat at our table and had to wait again. For breakfast, you got a selection of fruit, toast and jam, doughnuts and then a special of that day. Although the special is not what I would describe as special. It varied from pancakes, to eggs which were all quite bland. We also had a "special" omelette on one day, which to me tasted like vegetable soup in an omelette.. Not great. Overall good stay, good location.…
I spent 3 nights at this lovely B&B and enjoyed it despite heavy rains, thunder and lightning, although the electricity fell out. The little bungalows are created with love and the garden with pool is very well taken care of. The personnel is very charming and gives all kind of advice. It is a short walk either to the small town center with many restaurants and bars or to various beaches.
We liked: - Beautiful garden with some animals - Clean and comfortable rooms - Outstanding service (esp. Anne) - Small, safe town with a nice national park and some good restaurants (try Anne's homemade Burger, it's amazing) We didn't like: - Really nothing to complain about Other comments: - Rooms have mosquito nets and a hair dryer - Try to get Herardo as a tour guide (has a Prof. and Phd in Biology) - Visit the Sloth sanctuary, which was really worth the 30$ entrance fee for a tour (last tour is at noon; 15min car drive away, be on-time)
