German picked us up in San Jose and his first words were do you want to take the highway or my way-we of course chose his way which was by La Paz Waterfall and took us to a lovely little restaurant with tons of hummingbirds and specifically for the Emerald Toucanette which was there in all its glory. The next... More

We really liked it here. The accommodation we were offered met our family needs perfectly, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the range of activities on offer ideally suited. There's a good pool on site and the guided forest walk we did was fascinating. We went on a family boat trip to spot the river wildlife (iguanas, caiman,... More

It is a beautiful to place to stay in the rainforest surrounded by wildlife. Great service - very warm and friendly - Gustavo couldn't have been more helpful in getting us settled then escorting us around the hotel and even on a short hike nearby . Perfect place to experience the rainforest- we had a very knowledgeable guide who showed... More

This is a wonderful place to stay for a few days and to enjoy daylight and night tours to look for all kinds of wildlife. It is a place to relax and unplug from stressful life. A hidden, pristine place where it is still possible to keep hidden.....at least for a while. Hospitality is just superb. Thanks Gustavo for sharing... More

Stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Within minutes of checking in we experienced our first sightings of some of the wildlife. One of the staff beckoned us enthusiastically to see an iguana. We then saw toucans. During our stay we saw a sloth, many birds. Blue Jean frog, poison dart frog. We walked the various trails and... We had a lovely time here. Would recommend it highly. The rooms are on stilts which is perfect for a rainforest experience. There's plenty to do nearby and within the lodge resort itself. Highly commendable with very friendly staff. We tried both types of restaurant while here and they were both great. Plenty of wildlife to see and beautiful plants... More

We moved to this accommodation when our pre-booked accommodation was not up to scratch. We loved this hotel. We had two bungalows on the other side of the road to reception with an adjoining outside area which was perfect for our family of 5. Very quiet and we could regularly see the monkeys outside the window. The food was good,... More

Green and black frogs< Toucans, sloths, monkeys, millipedes, glass frogs (Didn't know they existed. saw a sloth released back into the wild. Slept in the rainforest. Brilliant experience and the guided tour through the rainforest was awesome. Will never forget this place. Breakfast area has a viewing platform to watch the birds feed and red squirrels too!

A short journey by car from San Jose, in Sarapiqui area, so with semi-Caribbean rainforest without Caribbean humidity and mosquitoes - provides good easing into travel round Costa Rica to other reserve lodges. Go for the casitas, or bungalows, on other side of road to main facilities - you'll be a little higher, with chance to see wild life in... More

Just a day visit for us, didn't actually stay in the lodge. Hiked the trail through the rain forest, even crossed the hanging bridge, which was really cool to do over the river. Saw lots of birds, turtles, frogs & butterflies. Very enjoyable. Nice tropical setting. We did have lunch here, which was good.
