Selva Verde was a great place to start a holiday in Costa Rica. We took the birding package and had an excellent guide who introduced us to the local bird population. They have a good feeding station where you can watch toucans, oropendulas and a range of tanagers picking up bananas. We were on a B&B package so ate in...

This is a beautiful place in the rainforest. You are in the middle of the rainforest with the sights and sounds of birds, animal and water while you are comfortable in you room. All rooms are connected with covered walkways so you stay dry. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The on site hikes are very good. The staff is...

We had a wonderful January stay at the Lodge. The staff is excellent and the setting is beautiful. This is an eco-friendly lodge and our room was without air conditioning but in January it was comfortably cool at night. It was immaculate. There are elevated walks to the more remote rooms. The wood used in the rooms and throughout is...

Arrived here from Mawamba Lodge on the coast in Tortuguero so was a complete change. Loved the hotel. Reception and check in was efficient and friendly. Room was clean, basic, simple and adequate. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was big enough with reliable hot water, storage space ok, in room safe, towels changed daily when we asked. Rooms are in blocks...

The Selva Verde lodge was one of our family's favorite parts of our Costa Rica trip. My kids (ages 17, 12, and 10) aren't really into nature so I was a little concerned, but when they saw a howler monkey and a sloth on our nature walk with Ronald, they went crazy. I've seriously never seen them so excited. We...

This lodge was fantastic. The rooms were large and comfortable. We did both a night hike and a boat cruise. We saw lots of frogs on the night hike and the famous bullet ant! The cruise we were not so lucky as there was heavy rains and most of the animals were hiding.! Although we did see some fantastic views...

Spent three nights at this lodge. We were in room 42 which is the nearest building to the river. Right beside the water cooler too. The room was very large. We had two double beds as well as a sofa in the room, two night stands, a water decanter stand and a desk. There was no wifi in the room...

Decent hotel with very conscientious staff, excellent place to do nature walk tour, wildlife abounds. Food was good enough -we ate every meal here during our stay. The rooms are large and spacious, cleaned daily, with towel service ( which is unpredictable at eco lodges). Bathrooms small but ok. There are casitas across the street that are way up a...

This was my favorite stop during our 2 week trip to Costa Rica. It was the second place we stayed and subsequent places could not hold a candle to it. The rooms are well maintained and so peaceful. Great birding opportunities and very family friendly. My 9 year old kids loved the early morning bird walk. It was one of...

We were in a bungalow which was the wrong choice. We understand some of the reasoning in that it was well away from the road and had air conditioning. In saying this the rooms on the hotel side of the road had ceiling fans and almost all were well screened from the road noise which was minimal at night. They...
