My boyfriend is Costa Rican and I'm American. This is an excellent option which makes us both happy. This was the second time we have stayed here and I know we will stay here again in the future. The cabins are rustic and located on a beautiful property with lots of wildlife. We absolutely love the fireplace which is in... More

The good Nice getaway with excellent weather and scenery, the bad, cabins show lack of maintenance, hot water pot was broken for both the sink and the shower, floor had so much wax that left stains on our shoes, chimney smoke floods the room instead the chimney, bed mattres and pillows way to stiff and some other facts that I... This place is a perfect getaway to the mountains, is relatively close to San José. The place is quite cold so you have to wear warm clothing. There are no supermarkets or amenities near , the hotel has its own restaurant, you can cook but you have to bring everything you need. It is better to go in car.

Our family enjoys the intimate times at a rustic mountain cabin. Your get your own private huge bath tub (not common in Costa Rica), wooden chimney, rustic type kitchen, and more, within a 45 minute drive from San Jose. At night, you will be able to see part of San Jose lit up. You are surrounded by thick cloud forest,... More

The place is close fron San Jose no more than 45 min.from airport, but far enough to feel in the mountains, close to Barba volcaino. The eeather is nice and cold, the cabins are very cute, have a fridge, cable tv, litle kitchenette, and most important hot water. It also has a nice fire place and the staff leave some... More

Cute cabins, but overpriced. Postive aspects: hot shower. Negative aspects: the stove in the `kitchen' was not powerfull enough to boil a liter of water, and lighting a fire in the fire place is a bad idea, the smoke flooded into the room instead of out of the chimney. The bed is not exactly comfortable, either.

We visited in January and had a great time. The cabin was ample with 3 bedrooms kitchen and 2 bathrooms with hot water. My kids loved the fire place. To experience cold while in Costa Rica is quite unique. While in Barva you have the feeling of being lost in the middle of nowhere yet you are 45 minutes from... More

Bought a promo with the Costa Rican version of Groupon and enjoyed out stay, the rooms are fully equipped with a fireplace, bathtub, kitchen and kitchenware, TV and wifi. The place is simply amazing, fresh air and quiet, the perfect place to escape from the city from time to time. The restaurant is very quaint and cozy, their food is... More

We did not stay there, we just stopped in for dinner and I must say that they have a lovely little restaurant. We even had a good bottle of wine with dinner - the cost was slightly high, but to be expected in the middle of no where. The gardens were lovely and we enjoyed our meal which was probably... More

I made a reservation for a weekend and unfortunately I was the unfortunate customer who arrived last to find my room was given to someone else due to a flood in one of the rooms... I have to admit they did give me a compensation free night, however, when I took advantage of this free night they gave me a... More
