If you visit Costa Rica, don't pass up the chance to dine at La Palapa restaurant in Playa Tamarindo . The food is great and service is A+. I highly recommend the Seafood Platter for two; however, there are many other great selections to choose from. Make sure you ask for the owner Henry, you wont be sorry that you... More

I went for labor day weekend to Playa Tamarindo and stopped by La Palapa restaurant, which was recommended by the locals. The drinks were amazing, they have a good happy hour, 2 for 1 drinks. Waiters are very attentive. and the view is incredible, who wouldnt like to be on the beach while having lunch or dinner? I ordered the... More

You don't have to pay to rent the cabanas on the sand, you can lay there all day and drink (happy hour / hora feliz 2x1 drinks ALL DAY) as long as you want. As long as you order food and/or drinks, the cabana is yours. Cabana = two lounge chairs, small table, big umbrella. We were in Tamarindo for... More

We didn't stay at the hotel. The concierge at JW Marriott recommended this restaurant for dinner. I also recommend a trip in the evening to Tamarindo. Search for Hotel Tamarindo Diria in Google Maps. Approx 20 minutes away from JW Marriott and a good selection of restaurants, shopping and night life in Tamarindo. Recommend "La Palapa" restaurant in Tamarindo -... More

Whilst the hotel was on the beach front, it was also next to the kitchen and cleaning stations which meant there was always a foul smell. The rooms are quite far back from the ocean as well so you really don't feel like you are on the beach. The split levels of the room mean that the downstairs is very... More

We were advised to try them for lunch by the concierge at the JW Marriott. Not sure if the fireworks happened as advised at 7:30pm, someone would have to verify that. We chartered a deep sea fishing boat for half day, then walked here a short distance for lunch. My fish sandwich was OK, but my wife and her friend... More

I really liked the feel of this hotel, It was right on the beach so you walk out your door and twenty thirty feet your on the beach. I loved it. My only issue was the door lock was crazy at one point I stood in front of my door for ten minutes trying to lock it. other than that... More

This hotel is badly in need of renovation. Not worth $100 a night. Worse aspect: Stairs to loft are right next to bed, so when you get up to go to the bathroom, you have to crouch real low to avoid hitting your head. My husband hit his head. Also, loft ceiling is very low. My husband hit his head... More

The locations, the staff and cleanliness were ON POINT! Loved it. It's a small boutique hotel attached to a restaurant. We requested the furthest room from the kitchen a cpl weeks before visiting and our stay was perfect. Literally steps to the beach. Would stay here 100% again!!

We had lunch here on a beautiful May day. We sat right on the sand near the beach with a great view. Our waiter, Eric, was wonderful and provided excellent service. The food was also great - although be ready for some higher prices for the location/ambiance. Fish and chips were great, as well as the curry and the fish... More
