Really. This hotel is soooo great! Everything about it is excellent! 1. Breakfast is so good, filled with fresh fruit, bread, good coffee, juices, ham, cheese and eggs made at the kithchen. 2. Staff is very friendly and kind. They are really trying to connect with you and make your stay a relaxed and good one. 3. Animals like monkeys and birds are seen at the property. It is such a great experience! 4. Kids are welcome and pampered, this was such a good thing for us since we were travelling with my 2 small children. 5. Location is great. The beautiful beach is just in front of the hotel and the pool is perfect and quiet. I really recommend this hotel, it is worth every penny. :)

Hotel's Favorite
I travel frequently and I have become quite familiar with fine hotels and inns. I’m not bragging - just want to state emphatically that Capitan Suiso Hotel in Costa Rica sets an enviable standard amongst other properties, worldwide! While close to the hustle & bustle of Tamarindo, this great property could not be a better sanctuary - with (not bothersome!) monkeys, iguanas, raccoons and a few friendly cats. There is wonderful privacy between all rooms, too! The staff, the rooms & bungalows and the food/ beverage service was all spectacular! Capitan Suiso’s fantastic pool has incredible views over the Pacific beachfront, which is at the property’s edge! I can hardly wait to return!

We just returned from our stay at this hotel and we had a fantastic time. It is lovely! I have traveled to 20+ countries and this is among my favorites stays. Although, their official hotel pictures are nice, I’m not sure they really do justice to it. It was was much nicer than I anticipated. It doesn’t look like much from the front of the hotel, but once you’re past the reception area the grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are quite spacious. We had an upper level room with two levels that looked out to the gardens. We were very happy with it. It does not have a TV, but we didn’t care. The hotel staff was very nice and after chatting with them, I learned that many have worked their for decades, because if’s a nice place to work. I didn’t expect much out of their small spa, but I had a absolutely wonderful pampering 1/2 day there and all of my treatments were great! I also loved how the staff embrace living in harmony with the local critters. They have iguanas, magpie-jays, uniquely-colored squirrels, a family of Howler monkeys, and resident cats and raccoon. The raccoon is wild and generally steers clear of guests, but we learned they found her when and she was orphaned, so the hotel staff hand-raised her and she very much is “at home” on the grounds. They staff is very kind to the wildlife and cleans up after hem very well. The hotel is also ideally situation at the end of Tamarindo beach…on the quite side. It is directly on the beach, and we loved walking the beach into town each day. When the restaurant staff learned it was 10th anniversary, they decorated our table pretty in celebration. Overall, we just loved it and will visit again.

A winner on all fronts. The hotel is set within incredibly lush gardens and is beachfront so you feel like you're in the jungle and on the beach. The best of both worlds. We stayed in a beachfront suite located on a second level. The suite was spacious, very comfortable and nicely decorated. It has a big bathroom with walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. And a big terrace that runs the length of the suite. Breakfast is fantastic. If you're familiar with a European breakfast that's what it' like. The best breakfast pastries and rolls, fresh fruit, local specialities. I loved it!! The restaurant and bar are open on all sides but has a roof. We had two dinners and both times we were not disappointed and we liked having drinks at the bar. The staff is wonderful. And the cats are great. They own the lobby! One day there was a coati eating the cat food. It was hysterical. The animals are very domesticated!! The grounds are impeccable. There is a lovely pool if you don't want to swim in the ocean. You're just a short walk from Tamarindo but you feel like you're far away. We loved Capitan Suizo!!

My husband and I stayed at Capitan Suizo for our honeymoon— we had the most amazing experience! Upon our arrival they had a bottle of wine and a sweet note waiting for us in our room. We stayed in one of the air conditioned garden bungalows— it was incredible. We love that there is no television and the emphasis on relaxing and being present. The beach is only a few steps away and we enjoyed the restaurant on site many times! The food they serve is absolutely delicious and we always looked forward to our complimentary breakfast every morning! We loved walking along the beach into town, which only took about 15 minutes. We really loved that the hotel was tucked away and at the end of the beach. It is very common to see howler monkeys & all other types of wildlife! The grounds are a true sanctuary & cared for with pride. The staff are some of the most genuine people you will meet in your lifetime. They were so kind and attentive. We booked several tours through the hotel which were superb. We truly loved every minute that we spent there. We hope to come back years from now to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Thank you for the most unforgettable honeymoon!
