What a dump. There was no welcome, no communication and no management. It feels like it’s being managed by a gap student who is there to surf and could not care less about the guests. So awful I had to leave on day 1. No access to transport, it’s for young people so not supporting folks to get to the town is abysmal. There are other reviews on here about lack of bringing group together, it feels like a closed frat party. That’s not what I’m paying for, and I am paying. I didn’t get anything that I expected so would advise anyone who wants a great surf experience alongside good vibes and people do not go anywhere near this appalling excuse for a surf camp. I could go in but pay for this at your peril.
I love this place more than any other spot I’ve ever visited. It’s truly like a second home to me and I’d come back a hundred times over if I could. It’s an amazing combination of fun and relaxation. It’s perfectly located in the jungle where you can enjoy the real tamarindo and relax by the beautiful pool but also catch a free shuttle in to town and surf all day with the very talented surf instructors! I had never even tried surfing and now it’s one of my favourite things! The entire place is like one big family where the guests and volunteers and staff just hang out together over meals and enjoy so many fun activities! I created some of my favourite memories ever here and had some of the best food in my life. This place will make you never want to leave!
Amazing place to stay if you want to meet fun people, surf, do yoga and have a great time. The facilities are nice, newly installed pool and hot tub is really lovely and the food here is some of the best food I’ve ever had! Staff is also lovely, the vibe here is just amazing. You can expect to have the best time of your life staying here!
If there’s one place in the entire world that I’d want to go back to it’s definitely Dreamsea! It has everything you could ever Dream of. The vibes are awesome. Every day the people of the camp gather for the amazingly delicious home cooked meals. The new pool is the perfect addition to the establishment, there’s both the ability to relax and read a book and also enjoy awesome pool parties. The staff is incredible, always super helpful and up for a good time. They truly make the dreamsea experience a million times greater. 10/10!
Dreamsea surf camp is everything I ever wanted and so much more. From the amazing staff to the awesome activities, there’s nothing I would change! Everyone is so helpful and truly creates an awesome environment. There’s always something to do here! Some nights consist of games and movies while some are spent partying until the sun rises again. There are endless options and there’s always something that suits everyone. The location is great and the new pool is a great place to relax! If you’re considering going- DO IT!
I stayed at Dreamsea for two weeks as a volunteer and loved every minute of my stay. My camp job was to help with dinner so all in all not longer than an hour a day of helping. I loved the atmosphere of Dreamsea, it’s so rare to find a place so successfully dedicated to communal living. Every morning we had a beautiful yoga session on an elevated platform in the jungle surrounded by trees and every evening guests and volunteers alike would participate in super fun organised activities. I’m between, daytimes were spent surfing and playing volleyball all together at the beach. This place is truly unique, and is every bit as fabulous as it’s social media portrays. Dreamsea also attracts brilliant creative likeminded people and it’s been so amazing getting to know everyone including Carlos and Ollie. Lots of love, can’t wait to return :)…
Dreamsea is a great place to stay in Costa Rica. A great vibe and community environment. You will be able to meet very nice people and be able to learn how to surf on the beautiful beaches of Guanacaste shore Extremely recommended
I came here as a volunteer for 3 weeks and I can’t suggest it enough to anyone who’s thinking of travelling around Costa Rica. The sense of community at camp is really something special. I’ve stayed at many hostels while travelling and I’ve never felt such a close knit bond between previously total strangers. I think that this is down to the constant camp activities organised by the manager Ollie, the exciting excursions and the longer stays of the volunteers. It’s a great place to come with a few friends (like I did) but it’s also amazing for any solo travellers. There were many solo travellers that had joined us and within a day were already part of our dreamsea family. This is a perfect stop along a backpacking journey if you’d like to meet a few travel buddies. We traveled to Nicaragua with several solo travellers who we’d met at camp just a few days previous. I’m very glad that I was lucky enough to spend my summer at dreamsea and I hope to come back in the future.…
Phenomenal hostel located inside what looks like an enchanted forrest. Lots of activities ranging from yoga, surfing, drinking games, and excursions. Highly recommend to stay here if you are traveling to Tamarindo. If at at all possible stay longer than one week, you'll be happy you did!
What an amazing experience!! The camp is in the middle of the jungle, with monkeys and birds around. I met amazing people and explored a bit of Costa Rica with them. I love how they do fun activities/games every day, and the little pub in the camp is key. Also the price is really good for Tamarindo. 100% recommended!
