Wow! Can’t possibly say in words how great this gem of a place is. First time in Tamarindo and to Costa Rica. Ten North can’t be beat for location, atmosphere and service. Was nothing I would change and can’t wait to come back! The pool and small beach were a daily must do after spending the morning on the beach which was only a 5 min walk away. Oh and the hotel provided towels, beach chairs, toys and umbrellas if needed. Kat and Trish kindly offered suggestions on the best places to eat/ entertainment around town, which we did and my gosh they were right. Each morning breakfast was delicious and included a smoothie ( they even made me a special one as I am allergic to mango ) The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet even though there was so much noise around us- didn’t hear a thing once inside. Top marks for this special place and incredible owner and staff. Thank you for having us ❤️

I stayed here solo while attending a course. Communication via e-mail in response to my questions was immediate and helpful. The charming resort felt homey and safe, even as a female travelling alone. The courtyard has a small "beach" with lovely trees beside the refreshing pool. The included breakfast was outstanding! A different special each day included excellent coffee, fresh fruit, smoothie and a hearty variety of hot classics and local cuisine.
There is a supermarket across the street, a vibrant local park next door with a Saturday morning market, easy walk to the main strip of restaurants and the beach. The somewhat noisy central locale was offset by the thoughtful white noise machine in the room so I slept to the sound of ocean waves.
The owner & staff were really helpful when I had an injury near the end of my stay. They arranged for an acupuncturist who had his service set up at the market next door to pay a "house call" to treat my ankle. Pros: excellent communication and customer service, charming environment, easy access to restaurants, shopping and beach, reasonable rates, amazing breakfast included, comfortable bed, white noise machine in the room, clean, in-room safe and small refrigerator, tips re local resources Cons: almost none. Lighting in the bathroom was dim and the room could use a simple full length mirror

My husband and I spent a fantastic 4 days at Ten North between Christmas and New Year's. It's in a perfect location, close to the beach but far enough from the Tamarindo revelers to be quiet at night. We came as a couple but wouldn't hesitate to bring our kids with us if we are lucky enough to visit again. Our room was lovely and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. On New Year's Day they offered incredible croissants from a nearby bakery in addition to the included breakfast. Don't hesitate to book a stay here, and when Veronica tells you to try the pineapple pie at Nogui's, take her advice! It's one of the best desserts I've ever had.

We loved our stay at Ten North. We had a late arrival and emailed to let them know. Received a very friendly, thorough and quick response back letting us know that the night watch would be able to let us in. Our room was clean and comfy. LOVED the big shower too! Breakfast was included and amazing - the fresh fruit smoothie was a delicious start to the day. Only regret was that we were only able to have it once during our stay due to having to leave early the other mornings. Staff was helpful and attentive. The location was close to restaurants, shops and the beach, with a supermarket right across the street to get water and snacks. And despite being located next to a skatepark, our room was very quiet.

This hotel is a wonderful B&B style property that includes a delicious breakfast every morning. Those daily fresh smoothies included in the breakfast were an instant cure after consuming too many Imperials and Sangrias on the beach! We had a one bedroom apartment that was very spacious and clean, and included a small patio that allowed you to enjoy the monkeys and iguanas that frequent this area. The pool was clean and refreshing, and had a lovely sandy “beach” area with chairs and bean bags where people could often be found reading and napping. The property is right in the center of everything! Easy walking to the beach and the many restaurants of Tamarindo. There are also 3 super markets within a block, one directly across the road. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay!

I stayed here for 2 weeks with my girlfriend and had a wonderful time. We weren't expecting a huge amount, but the staff, all round, made it. From helpful tips on the local distractions to excelent breakfasts each day, they have succeeded in creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. If you need anything, just ask Trish!
The A/C worked well, the room was cleaned to a high standard each day, including replacement towels, and security is present all night. Internet was not totally reliable for the first week, but they had an upgrade at the end of that week and it worked great thereafter.
The security point is important because Tamarindo is not 100% safe at night. A couple walking around will be fine, but a woman alone is definitely not a good idea.
It's a family friendly place so nice and quiet 24-7, but no loud parties at night. Fairly cozy and quiet. There is a hostel next door whose music can be heard some nights, but it didn't bother us.
All in all a great 2 weeks. I'd strongly recommend Ten North, as a couple, alone, or in a group (we saw all 3), and definitely recomend Tamarindo as a party town. I hope to be back soon!

We absolutely loved this hotel. The host coordinated several activities, shuttles, and COVID testing for us. Everyone was extremely friendly, and the hotel was spotless. Housekeeping was always very prompt and made sure our room was perfect everyday. We spent a lot of time in the pool, and the coffee every morning was great. We were also appreciative of the ice cold AC and the freshwater cooler in the lobby. The hotel was very mindful of Covid and made sure that we had a safe and sanitary stay! Quick walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Across the street is a nice supermarket. We will definitely be staying here again!

This is an amazing deal for Tamarindo. We got a two bedroom with strong air conditioning, a very refreshing pool thar we used several times, great WiFi signal, and a catered breakfast from Laura very morning. We met a few people on excursions that were at the Diria and I would say that we got the better deal.
If you travel a bit in Costa Rica, understand that this is not a business hotel and for the price, it is an unbeatable value. We were so happy with the friendly help at the front with Karo, who was the nicest.
We were here for five days as a family and kept ourselves quite busy. The location of this hotel is great as it is close to a few banks, across from a great supermarket and central to all the restaurants. Definitely try Antichi (see my review on that wonderful place) and Little Luccha (nachos and jalapeño margarita was amongst best that I tried).
We also used ILT for transportation, which was the best decision so that we could ride in luxury.
The hotel was clean, had good toiletries and well maintained. Our room was our haven from the hot weather and the bugs. The rooms all had sound machines, which helped us sleep. I was worried about being next to the skate park, but it was really not an issue. Every place that we stayed at had breakfast included, but this was best. Today, we ordered custom order omelettes, we also had French toast, eggs sunny side up with sausage and cheese, and other great breakfast dishes.
We will definitely come back! Thank you especially to Karo and Laura who made our trip extra special.

Just got back from a fantastic 7 night stay at Ten North. The staff were all great and couldn’t do more to make us feel welcome. The recommended restaurants and surf school (Wave Riders) are a cut above the rest in Tamarindo and the staff will book and allow you to pay at reception so no need to take cash/card to the beach in your boardshorts. Yes it can get a bit noisy on busier nights in resort but when you book a hotel in the middle of a surf town what can you expect? The location is one of the reasons it’s such a great place, seconds walk to all the amenities, bars, restaurants etc. The pool area was like a little jungle oasis and the hotel was cleaned constantly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a bit more life in their trips. I will be coming back for sure.
