Check-In took more than 1 hour waiting, dirty rooms, stained sheets. The photographs do not represent the place as it currently is. The owner is very uncomfortable, he goes through the rooms, at night he calls your attention to make you quiet early. The attention during breakfast was terrible, they took a long time to deliver things to us. The food had no flavor. They did not want to give even an extra spoon for a girl under 5 years old. Managers call attention to their workers strongly, at all times and in front of everyone. In summary, the only good thing about the hotel is the location and the beds that are comfortable, but for what we paid, it is definitely a lousy place. I would not return here nor do I recommend that you do so.
We had a great time at this resort. Staff were excellent! It was my husband’s 50th birthday and Javier at the front desk upgraded our room to a pool view room with tub on the balcony at no charge. On his birthday we went for supper and when we went back to our Room there was champagne on ice and chocolates’ They also had bundles of balloons all over the room! It looked great! Thank you Javier you made his Birthday trip special and truly care about your customers experience! ;) At the bar Christopher was amazing! Ask him for his special drink “ Frog Eye”! Our favourite server was Julian, always happy and smiling... all staff were very nice and friendly. The reason I gave it 4 starts is because we didn’t have water in our rooms a couple of nights and 2 days there were many things they were out of on the menu at the Chill and Grill.…
This is a great little vacay spot. There are a series of Bungalows. Each one has 1 or 2 or 4 seperate rooms. One pool. 2 bars Basic vacay drinks available Buffet is actually very good, and normally I avoid the buffet. One A la carte restaurant. It's ok. Stick to the Buffet. Snack bar available after lunch with fries and nachos Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very nicely decorated. Comfortable bed..had a great night's sleep each and every night. Room 204. It was 1 mins walk to the beach. Beach is great. Lots to do. Boogie boards are free. For a fee you can hire snorkeling gear and kayak or take suffer lesson's from vendors on the beach or in town (Samara) , a 20-30 mins walk depending on the tide. I would definitely go back
I love this place! The location couldn't be better for the price. It's literally only minutes to the beach. Breakfast is included with your room, and you have several choices. It is served quickly, and is just the right amount. For rooms you have several choices, from dorms for the budget minded, to private rooms with A/C. Dan and Claudia go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. There is a small soda onsite that sells great food at low prices. You are slao right in the centre of Samara so restaurant options are all around you. The pool is a bonus if you want to cool off but don't fwem like going to the beach, and there is live music twice a week in the back, including an open mike night on Wednesdays for those of you that are.musically inclined. As a solo traveler I found the hotel a wonderful place to meet others and I also got to know the staff well. They will help you out with any tours, or adventures you want to go on (without any added cost). Dan knows his way around the area so his advice was greatly appreciated. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good choice at a more than reasonable price! …
I stayed here with my two kids. The rooms are very basic. No a/c.. I thought I had booked a room with ac but when we arrived it did not have any. They did move us to a room with ac though. There are still opening in the top of the walls so you get noise and outside air mixed with it.. the pool was cute. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok. No hot water. Location is very close to the beach and many places to eat.
cheaper rooms , clean, with a great breakfast, close to beach, centre of town, pool, lounging chairs, bar with live music nights, all around very nice, pleasant staff, and very good advice on area re surfing, fishing , waterfalls, and dolpin tours diving
We had a great stay in Samara thanks to Dan and his wife. We had an issue with the reservation and they figured something out in no time. Swimming pool is very pleasant, the bar is great and wifi works perfectly! Nothing more to say, good times! I hope I'll get a chance to come back and visit Hotel Playa Samara again!
The rooms are quite small, but just for sleeping is ok if your on a budget. It’s very noisy though in the hotel, since it’s a old building. There is a bar in the pool area and you can hear the music very well in your room. On the courtyard side is the breakfast area and you can hear people there from early on. The were also no hot water (do you really need it though?), and quite a few ants in the room. The staff are super helpful and nice. If you want a quiet option then this is not it. But if you are on a budget and don’t mind a little noise, then it might be an option.
What an incredibly magical place! Super comfy & cute with all the things you could want in a hotel. Clean rooms, super nice staff & just steps away from a beautiful beach. I wish I could’ve stayed much longer! There’s a great pool & bar area in the back where you can catch a yoga or Zumba class in the morning. Then go enjoy a tasty breakfast that’s included. If you really want to experience the Pura Vida way of living, stay here.
