Poor than Cuba's hotels service Maximum 2,5 stars. Slow friendly staffs. Dirty room. Problem to exchange a beach towels. 15 sun beds on all beach and you need to wait up not later than 6am to booked it ) by towel ). Food is good but only one restaurant. Good drinks. Perfect ocean and sunsets.

Wonderful people. Great Service. Great accomodations. I was so sick prior to leaving home and my husband is so sick now after 2 days returning. I would recommend to anyone but I am kicking myself for not sticking to bottled water. We found the food weak although it was okay. Everything else was spectacular. I would recommend in a heartbeat but be prepared for food that looks good but maybe isn't good for you. I also wish there was better management with day trips. We booked a day excursion . When we arrived we were told we couldn't go because of a mistake . We were offered a refund but not a complimentary excursion. I found this frustrating as we only had 7 days and left our small adventures until the end. We had a full refund just not as much customer service as I would have expected. They were great but didn't go extra mile I guess. Very disappointing for our trip. I would definitely go back though!!!!!!

I have read some bad reviews and I never saw what You people saw. Room 1 bedroom villa small but great...had to ask for a cot for our daughter and a bed was delivered within 1/2 hour. Hot water was mostly hot...who stays in the room anyway!!! Food...could always find something to eat...Yes there were birds around...it was outdoors...just like you would find with any outdoor venue. My husband enjoyed the a la carte... Dirty...hmm poop was on the patio furniture...of course its outside...take a napkin wipe it off sit your ass down... If there was a mess it was from other vacationers that didnt clean up after themselves if you have someone that caters to you at home bring them with you...or pick up your garbage ppl...washrooms around the resort were clean bartenders it took 25 mins to get a drink...seriously...only if the ppl were ordering the fun drinks...if the pool bartender seen you coming and you ordered the same drink all the time he knew and if there is only 1 relax look around enjoy the view. Staff rude...never saw that...if they were rude how rude were you first? We went on 2 excursions atvs and dolphin and snorkelling both were worth the money saw dolphins whales turtles There was no kids club, entertainment, dance classes, shows...so we made our own fun. That was the only issue we had...but oh well, lots to do!!! Our 7 year old daughter picked Costa Rica over Disney, we are so glad she did it was Amazing...if you are looking for a nice quiet relaxing family spot, come here! Maid service wasn't the best, but we had brought our own towels and managed with what we had!

When we arrived we were told our room would be ready in 10 minutes, 4 hours later we were escorted to a villa that was already occupied. My friend and I had requested double beds when we booked through Air Canada almost a year prior. We were given a room with a King Bed and told “you get what you get”. The bars are filthy!!! They re-use glasses after only rinsing them. They ran out of rum for 3 days. The food is disgusting and there is barely enough for the people staying there. Birds pick at the food constantly. They make omelettes in the morning but if you do not eat meat they do not clean out the bowls so you could get a mouthful of ham. I was so excited about the coffee! It had to be the one thing they got right. I was wrong. You were lucky to get a coffee and when you did get one it tasted like it had been out for days. Do not expect your room to be cleaned or to get clean towels. The pool bar is cool except they rarely had two bartenders and so you would wait 25 min for a drink. The resort aside, Samara is beautiful. Walk along the beach into town and grab some amazing food there. It is about a 25 min walk. The one cool thing about the resort is that it wasn’t crowded and full of obnoxious tourists that are crazy day drunk. It was pretty peaceful. It is a terrible resort so if you are reading these reviews and you are worried, well you should be. I realize all of these issues are first world problems for a North American tourist visiting a developing country, but $2200 is still alot of money for me and I would love some basic value in return. What I did get was some serious relaxation, spectacular views, some amazing memories, and awesome food (in Samara). Go somewhere else even next door. Samara is amazing just not this place.

Booked a week, went with Air Canada , got there and waited 2.5 hrs in the heat with many others only to be told there was no rooms. Thankfully they placed us at the resort next door The Azura which was very nice , good food and service! Even the people that were already at the Sámara villas resort were very disappointed and upset with everything, and complained it was unorganized, dirty and run down. This place needs a total overhaul!
