we have had a lovely few nights staying here. if you want 24 hr concierge and 3 meals a day its not for you- its more like a lovely B and B, a little way out of town. the team are great, friendly and helpful and will sort activities, taxis and restaurants for you. big thankyou to andre who was super helpful, and the lovely owner muriel. accommodation is simple but comfortable and there is a refreshing pool . breakfasts are good. it can be hard to get a taxi home so its worth arranging in advance. id recommend this place to anyone who loves nature, and is happy to feel a little out of the way- part of the charm as far as im concerned!
This was our second stay at this resort and we loved it just as much if not more than our first time 10 years ago. Our family enjoyed the private plunge pool at our casita, the friend staff, easy reservations, delicious breakfast and the lush gardens. We will come back here EVERY time we visit Samara.
We stayed in 10 places in 22 days in CR, this is one of the top 2 for me. It's a bit away from town which is fine as we had a car. From the moment you drive thru the gates you enter another world of beautifully kept tropical garden, with a cozy pool and thatched roof dining area. Very quaint and simple. Muriel and the other woman at the desk or so amazingly cheerful and helpful , it was a joy to just hang around and feel the energy of nature. They are natural hosts, they make you feel right at home. Howler monkeys are definitely a presence at night. We had a 2 br house and cooked a few neals there. It was really comfortable and relaxing. We still got out every day to do activities by the beach but this was a real pleasure to return to at the end of a sun drenched day. There tend to be a lot of french folks due to the owners french background. It was not an issue for us.…
I can’t say enough about this place! The staff are kind and helpful. Our villa is private and serene. The breakfast is delicious and reasonably priced. The pool is picturesque and just the right temperature. I would highly recommend staying here!
If you want a quiet stay a little away from the noise of playa Samara El pequeño gecko verde will not disappoint you. A few bungalows in a luxuriant garden a nice swimming pool and you can relax for hours. Very good breakfasts served near the swimming pool. The friendliness is exceptional. Of course with a very moderate price do not expect luxury bathrooms ! Also you will need a car because going to Samara for dinner is a 30mn walk..,
Such an great hotel. The lady who met us at reception was amazing, had so many tips and advice for Sámara. She sorted us bikes as the walk is around 20 minutes. Breakfast was great too. All round great experience, would recommend and stay again (maybe in a room closer to the WiFi)
Spent two night in a bungalow here. Very quiet and enjoyable. A short drive from the busy center of Samara, but worth being in a more serene setting. Clean, friendly, quiet. Did not try the breakfast. Will stay again.
We stayed there for a week as a family with our 2 kids. The location is absolutely perfect, and it makes you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. The pool is really nice and you also have a secret beach only 5 minutes away. Everything is spotless and the breakfast really good. Last but not least, the owners and the staff members are beyond what you can expect. Super nice, they always try to answer any question you may have and love providing advice on what to do/what to see based on your needs. We strongly recommend that place and would definitely love to go back!
I arrived late at night, it was a little challenging to find but it was probably mostly me. It is a little ways from town so I think you want a car although it is possible to walk. The woman at the desk suggested a morning walk and gave me good directions for an easy walk to an isolated beach which was quite nice. Good WIFI, nice breakfast, really felt like you were in the jungle. Come here if you are looking for something private away from town
My husband and I enjoyed 5 nights of our two year anniversary trip at this lovely hotel in Villa Caribe (with the private pool) in Jan. 2021. Absolutely everything was beyond perfect! All of the touches in both our villa and around the grounds were so special. The little pool was a fantastic way to cool off (especially if you take the trail through the forest to the beach - which is awesome!), or just relax after a busy day. My husband actually had an extremely important work meeting he could not miss while we were there, so for those who unfortunately might have to work a bit while on vacation, there were no issues at all with the internet speed for his video call, and the desk in the villa was a nice little place for him to work while I enjoyed my book in the pool! The gardens and lush landscaping around our villa and throughout the property were just beautiful. I am a gardening enthusiast myself, so I really enjoyed this aspect of the property. The breakfast was also delicious - a must try not just for the convenience, but the quality was great, and it was a great way to start the day enjoying a good meal by the main pool area with the waterfall in the background. Also, worth mentioning, all staff and the owners truly went above and beyond every step of the way to ensure we had the best time possible. After 8 or 9 trips now to Costa Rica with my husband, we know we will absolutely be returning to this wonderful little place, and can't wait to enjoy another vacation here soon! Pura vida!…
