I can not say enough about this resort. The staff was warm and welcoming. Every request we made was attended to and addressed. From the front desk to the upstairs bar to the restaurant staff, everything was amazing. The walks along the beach for my friend's birthday getaway sealed the deal. We had to book our first night separately due to availability, and the staff handled the move so we did not have a care in the world. I highly recommend this property. The name and the photos are point on...you are truly embedded in a beachfront forest. I had so much fun watching my friend try to find her way to the room the first couple days. The property is well maintained, and we had no issues at all.
My wife and I just stayed here late July. The hotel was amazing. All the rooms are hidden perfectly in the midst of the jungle. The view from our room looked out into the canopy of the trees. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff was very polite and attenitive. The food was very good as well. There were a group of Howler monkeys that came through and were at one point climbing in the trees above the pool. I highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderfull small hotel with modern spacious rooms, location at the beach and great staff. We had a garden room, which was very nice with charming surroundings. Restaurant was OK, but there is also some restaurant options 400-500 meters down the beach.
Absolutely amazing small hotel right on beautiful Playa Hermosa. The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay great. They even provided an unexpected room upgrade which was super nice! The food at the on-site restaurant was out of this world!! My husband said the burger there was the best he’d ever had. We did the honeymoon package which included all meals, and they were excellent- I recommend sticking to the more local cuisine such as the seafood. The beach was super calm and clean and the snorkeling on both rocky ends of the beach was pretty good with decent visibility. Lots of birds in the morning and very relaxed vibe at the hotel. Bring mosquito repellant and be careful if you venture near the rocky reefs to snorkel because there are sea urchins on the rocks- this is not an issue on the sandy parts of the beach. We definitely hope to be back!!…
Stop looking and stay here! Very clean with the most helpful staff I have encountered traveling. The restaurant and bar at the hotel are some of the best in the city. I know that sounds weird to say but it's true. We had a chance to meet the chef and he was very talented.
We had a lovely 3 night stay here at the end or our trip with the advantage that it was super close to Liberia Airport. We stayed in one of the Ocean View Suites. Sadly we never used the spa bathtubs on the deck, but it was nice having the deck with beach/tree view. Walking around the resort though, I'd say the view might have been critical and any of the rooms likely would have been lovely. I'll admit I was a bit turned off that I'd failed to read the small print and that breakfast was not included in our stay like every other place we'd stayed, but que sera sera. We ate dinner one night up at the bar and had a fine meal, but chose to eat the other two nights down the beach at Aqua and had a really terrific experience both times. Beds inside the rooms were really comfortable. The pool area was smallish, but lovely and shaded. I would say though, at least in May, bring your bug spray. We felt like the mosquitos were worse here than anyplace else we were in Costa Rica, no matter what time fo day...…
The rooms are large suites with comfortable beds, large bathrooms, and balconies. The grounds are very well kept and full of tropical trees and plants. There is a restaurant and bar on the grounds with a good sunset view through the trees. It's right on the southern end of Playa Hermosa so you don't need your car to get to anything nearby (actually you can even walk to the main part of the town a couple blocks away). This hotel was a nice end of our trip with our family getting a bit exhausted and needing to rest and relax from our adventures. Also listen for the howler monkeys in the morning (I never saw them at the hotel but did see them many times on our trip).
Our oceanfront room was one of my favorites we've ever stayed in. We paid a little extra, but I loved being able to sit at the table or relax in the 2-person jacuzzi on our patio with a view of the ocean and the sound of waves. They did an outstanding job with the landscaping to offer some privacy but still allow amazing ocean views. The pool and its jacuzzi were beautiful, and we enjoyed the restaurants (food and views) as well. We rented kayaks our last morning and had to wait quite a while for them to be delivered to the beach as promised but it all worked out in the end. Loved our stay here!
My family and I enjoyed our 2 night stay at the hotel. The professional and personal service provided by the front desk made the experience all the better. The location provides for forest and beach experience that makes for great bird-watching. The setting for the pool is serene and unlike any other hotel that I have stayed at. I look forward to returning to this hotel soon.
Nice, clean, and relaxing. Pool is great. Beach is great. Food is good except the shrimp ( not fresh) & watermelon ( not sweet). They need a fan for flies in restaurant. AC is soo nice because it is steamy outside … not Louisiana steamy but still. Mangrove forest nearby is fabulous!
