We wanted to stay away from the chaos of Tamarindo and this was a perfect spot - only a 30 minute beach walk away, but a completely different vibe. Rip Jack Inn is not a fancy hotel, with a couple of small pools, clean rooms, and lovely hammocks to relax. There's a restaurant attached to the hotel which serves great...

On a level above the road is a comfortable feeling bar-restaurant serving remarkably delicious tuna. The shrimp dish was ordinary. At sunset time trees block the sea view so better to sink into 1/2 price options from the bar. The 'surprise' option, though popular, was a disappointment. Service was as exceptional as the tuna.

Cozy surfer - yoga vibe Felt homey. Clean- comfortable. Right next to beach. 2 minute walk from our room down path to beach. Restaurant has excellent food. Excursions they set us up with were really good.

We've been to the Rip Jack twice and we love it. The food is so good especially their authentic Costa Rican food. The restaurant is like in a tree house which makes the open air experience fun. It is maybe 50 yards from the ocean where you can surf, run etc. The beach is fabulous. Yoga on site, access to...

Hotel is located in a small cluster of 3 hotels that cater to surfers and those seeking a less populated beach town. Beach is located through a trail in the forest very close. It is clean, nice pools, grounds are well maintained and staff were friendly on check in. 2 or 3 good, restaurants are close. We are on a...

From RipJack a short trail sandy through second-growth growth forest leads to the beautiful undeveloped beach. The rooms are nice and well kept. The bathroom is small, the beds are comfortable. The small table and the hammock just outside the room (under the palms) are wonderful. A restaurant is just upstairs as are several others adjacent to the south along...

We stayed at RipJack for 2 nights in December 2016. The atmosphere is very relaxed, lots of gringos and surfers. Playa Grande is gorgeous, though there can be a strong current there - best to leave the deeper water to the experienced surfers. Our room at the hotel was beneath the restaurant, which wasn't ideal as it was a little...

We stayed here for our honeymoon in December, and really enjoyed it. The staff here was really friendly and easy to work with on booking tours, shuttles, etc. We booked the standard room, which truly came with the basics (coffee maker, locking safe, bathroom, beds). It was always clean with fresh towels and sheets, despite the copious amounts of sand...

This is a great place to stay. It's clean and the staff are very helpful. No problems here except there is limited wifi. Wifi is only in the public areas, no wifi in rooms. They may not be able to do anything about that.
