Great vacation with the kids. The cafe had excellent service and wonderful food. Highly recommend their breakfast. The surf instructors were friendly, patient, and great at teaching new surfers. The first day out the kids and I were all standing up on the boards even though none of us had surfed before. Justen, the manager, was able to recommend and...

After surfing in California and Hawaii, we decided to travel to Playa Grande, Costa Rica to test out the surf. What we found was a lot more. The surf camp's small cafe in front was friendly an the food was very good. The management was so helpful. The camp is a few steps from the beach with great surf waves....

Incredible vacation with 3 families before our kids went off to college. Everybody was surfing by the end of the week. Great onsite cafe. Justin set us up on adventures almost everyday. Zip lines, ATV 's, white water tubing, deep sea fishing, and sunset cruise. Need a vacation from the vacation

The stay here was fantastic. Traveled with my sister and 2 kids, age 14 and 17. The area to surf was a minute walk from the hotel and the beach was great. Vidier had a lot of patience and was a great surf instructor. My sister and I were slow to learn, but the kids picked it up quickly. Kids...

First, Playa Grande is an absolutely gorgeous stretch of beach. My first priority was learning how to surf, and Vidy, my surf instructor, had me up on day one. By day two, I was hooked. I didn't realize how good I had it until I took the water taxi to Tamarindo and saw at least 20 boards in the water...

This camp is truly a gem. Extremely well maintained. Lovely, clean pool is a bonus. I enjoyed my time here so much I'm already brainstorming my trip back. The cafe Mar Azul adjacent is so good and convenient. The team that runs this whole facility, both the camp and the cafe, are the kind of people you're immediately thankful for...

We had a great few days at the Surf Camp. Justen could not have done more for us, and he made us feel incredibly welcome. The surf lessons that you could get from the hostel were good value and the surf board hire was for 24-hours so we could surf the next day as well which was great. The open-air...

Connected to the surf camp, and open for breakfast, cafe Mar azul is awesome. Run by a friendly Costa Rican couple, the food is authentic and amazing. Try the frozen mint lemonade and breakfast tacos or eggs with goat cheese and spinach and tortillas. Showing a pic of the vannana bread french toast. Your taste buds will thank you.

First off - we are not surfers, but the location of the surf camp and the prices seemed good to us. We are not hard core backpackers (we are in our 50's), so we don't do shared dorm rooms and where possible, we like private bathrooms, but the best option here was for a private room with shared facilities, which...
